No doubt there are rules in poker that guarantee you long-term success, but above all this is the luck and the courage to play two cards. how many of you wait for an AK to go all in, or 10's or JJ's and get a bat beat?.. vs 67s, or another pair of initial cards. The answer is the fear of playing, you have to try to play a more varied range, so in the long term win more number of times, If you lose at least you will not get frustrated because you did it with premiun hands.

good luck at the tables, this is just a tip! you are responsible for your game..:icon_shak

You are all focused too much on the result and not how you got there. Yes you should play a varied range. Yes, you will lose with AK to 67. But if you play out AK vs 67, you will, in the long run, win more often. What matters is not if you win or lose the hand, but rather if you were able to know how your opponents range matched up with your range, and that the money got put in when you had the greater equity. Play that way, and you will not lose (in the long term average).

A good top pair isn't everything, and the math doesn't work when the game interferes with mad luck!!!

In most cases, the rest of the 67 cards against the AK do not play !!! It's a fact!

The most important thing is to not take isolated cases into consideration. As it was said before, knowing your opponents range and knowing he's shove is probably not as good as yours will get you money on the long run, even if you will lose 38% of the time.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

A tight aggressive style is the easiest to play and learn.

As you get more comfortable in the game I too strongly suggest to loosen up a bit.

Poker is luck and courage. Yes you are right. But for me it's math. IMHO - who considers chips better, he wins money.

I do agree..but it depends on situation. And mostely AK will be so big raised from scary players that much, that your outs won't pass ist

hi!
i agree with that but its very important to know when it is a good situation to push
it depends from your position, your stack and your opponents...
have a wide range but know when and how to play with it!

Yes AK is the top pair, but I have why it is the most part beat so for me it is not a guarantee of victory.
