I won a $109 ticket on partypoker that I'm not able to exchange for $. I usually play micro to low stakes tournaments and have no experience playing high buy in tournaments. The tournament has antes from level 1. Do I have a better chance to cash in if I register at the very last minute of late registration?

I don't think so. I would want to be in the seat from the start. I would expect very few loose cannons in a higher $ tournament. All your fish are going to be playing from the beginning. You don't want to enter later cause all the better players will be left. not only that but you're also going to be short stacked. so now you've got two strikes. Do you really think in a higher buy-in that your low-stakes pallor tricks will work? Your chip stack will not survive the tighter, better play.
But what do I know, I don't have a ticket...

I am today reach 2 tickets worth 22$ with few cent and i think play satt to 109$,but than i find some tourney 22$ trough phases...lose quick with pairs of kings vs aces,.My advice is better play from start, but day later, not tired and frustrated like me today, just skip to tourney when i finish satts. In early stages you can calculate and make strategies,on late registration you depends of luck and one hand can crush you.Definitly from start.Good luck

You don't have to get in right away, but I would within the first 30 mins or so. If you wait til the end of late reg, you will only have 10bb or less. So jump in early or soon after it starts.

I have played this one 2 times, you can choose on which one to play, but usually the late reg is for 3 hrs so if you lose patience and concentration I suggest you register 1 hour into late reg

Register immediately, and play conservatively, neno in late play in such tournaments, for an hour you can wait 4-5 super hands and multiply.

The best advice i've heard about playing higher limits was: "Don't think about buy-ins, don't think about prizes, don't be scared of better skills of your opponents, just concentrate on the game and try to play you "A-game". That's it."
And in addition need to say, yes i think that too, coming late is suck, as you are loosing a lot of opportunities by doing this and coming as a short stack forcing yourself instantly to gamble. Better coming, when it starts.

Thanks for tips guys. I will play from the start, I'm used to play long hours so losing focus will not be a problem for me. I'm only afraid that I might play too tight and the regs will easely exploit it.

The ol late reg right before close for a min cash move huh yeah that move doesn't work. A lot of the time you'll be coming in at a blind level that really doesnt give you a realistic shot. Just play the tournament from the start and play like you dont have anything to lose and who knows it just might be your day.

Okay so WTF exactly are you talking about????

Are you perhaps responding to the wrong thread by accident? .. because your post has pretty much nothing to do with the original poster's question (unless I'm missing something here... like where do you get the '60' from.. & what does this have to do with micros & how micros are like freerolls?)

I think you are doing the right thing by playing from the start.

Having never played in such a tournament, I’m not the best person to give advice, but I'd just play your normal game. You will be a lot wiser after the event and if you get another opportunity to play a similar tournament, you will have a better idea of what to expect.

All the very best and please let us know how you got on.

Definitely from the start! (& for the reasons already stated above ^ ) Hey... you can always fold fold fold too if you want.

Good luck! Nothing to lose (as was mentioned by someone else already)... you already won just by winning the entry into this!
