I play my best poker when playing in MTTs. I make it ITM close to 20% of the time and find myself at the final table a fair amount of those times as well.

However, I typically don't have a lot of time to devote to poker. Also, I can only afford about a $200 bankroll at the moment so my buy-in of choice would be the $2-$5 range since I'd like to keep about 50-100 buy-ins.

I'd like to make this a profitable hobby, and I'm sure I can since I do pretty well with MTT in general. But, it can get boring (and frustrating) sometimes when I bust out of a number of tourneys in a row and typically only have time to play 2, maybe 3, tourneys per week.

Any suggestions for keeping things interesting while still managing a healthy bankroll and not over-committing?

If you prefer tourneys to cash games, might try some SNG's, of course if you are U.S. player, can be painful waiting for anything beyond a single table game to fill up. General consensus seems to be, making money with limited time, cash games are the way to go.

Must learn and play cash to build a bankroll. It fits any time schedule, the stakes are low, the reward can be very nice and the game is perfect for your attitude.

If you want, check out my playlist on You Tube and start at .5/.10, not .1/.2 and double up or better and get up from the table. See videos for detailed instructions and how to attack the weaker opponents playing in the micro limits.

Good luck and let me know how you are doing there and if I can answer any questions for you. al spath (teach)

if you want to play $25 worth. Buy in for 5 x $5 at the same time. Then if you bust out early in them all you aren't wasting your time across a few hours.

The gameplay and dynamics are so different between cash tables and MTT. I do very well with the MTT structure and know how to play effectively in the different stages of the tournament. The increasing blinds add another layer of play that you just don't have at a cash table.

When I'm at cash tables, I find it hard to adjust. Players call all sorts of things since they can just reload. It's much harder to read what they might be playing. Any advice?

I would love to play 180 seat SnGs, but the sites I'm using do not have those (FullFlush, BetOnline). It's hard enough to find even 1 table SnGs filling up in a timely fashion on those sites. If I was on pokerstars I would play the 180s every chance I got.

Try low sit n goes they are turbo so you are fast in money. And you can play how many you want and there is a good money in prize pool :)
