Anybody have advice for a player that always sprints at the beginning of a tournament, grinds the middle and then either steamrolls or tanks the final?

you must stay patient and remember that the player that are with you at the end all got there by playing good poker and that it will take alot more out thinking then it did in the early stages

Work on will power and start taking notes of what you do wrong in the late stages.

How did you lose? What play did you make? Study up on late stage strategy and play.

A good but older book I recommend for making it deep and continuing to stay patient is Zen and the Art of poker.

Don't worry about it, it's more common than you think!
What may be happening is that you must be getting timid 'cause of the amount of chips placed on the table and a certain fear of being eliminated... (just a supposition)

Try to start thinking about the chips by BBs, stay focused and don't be afraid to be eliminated, think that if you eliminate them you can play other tournaments.
