just won a sattelite to the turbo takedown, so I´m just wondering if anyone got some advice, or strategies
Important is, what's your goal in this one. If I'm right 20000 players max and 4000 paid.
Full off very loose players, so in a short time half of the players busted.
Therefor generally in the beginning playing tight is right.
Play your premiums very aggressive, because in the beginning there's a lot of players willing to get it in the middle with marginal
hands.
Try to pick up chips from loose spewers when you have decent hands and when blinds go up ,widen your range to try to steal from late position.
Back off a bit if it's played back at you, especially if anybody is thight and plays back.
Well, this sounds rather like standard play.
Than , if you approach the bubble, set your goals.
If you want to get real deep you have to gear up even more and play very aggressive, not like a maniac playing ATC, but try to find players who don't play back light and who don't have resteal stacks.
Also think about your image.
Got caught
bluffing recently, back off a bit and restart building a tight image.
However, if you're image is still tight (check your stats, shown big hands at showdown) gear up and attack your tight victims and play premiums very aggressive.
Big (gapped) connectors (preferably suited) like J-10 are great stealing cards.
If you recognize loose stealing players attacking your blinds, play back at them with decent hands.
If you're able to resteal a few times they will stop attacking you, which makes it easier for you to get free walks.
The danger of above mentioned play, is the possibility of busting just before , on or just after the bubble were pricemoney is nada.
If your goal is kinda small payout, don't play to aggressive before the bubble.
Try to survive ,don't ever let your stack being blinded away, but take care.
In both cases you will have to steal and resteal now and than, however if you want to get real deep you'll need every chip you can get approaching the bubble, so you have to be more aggressive if possible.
Got through the bubble, mention prices remain the same for the next hundred of players or so, so you'll most probably recognize 3 types of players.
The ones who are shortstacked and glad they made it.
They'll throw it in the middle soon to thake their chance of double or nothing.
The ones with a good stack trying to get in higher pay-outs without risking much.
The ones with good stacks or superstacks who will try to catch the first group and attack the second group frequently, to keep on building their stacks to be able to play a good endgame.
Is your goal to get realy deep, try to be one of the latter.
If a smaller payout satisfies you, play tight to climb the payouts and if you're lucky you get some premiums to make you able to get deep anyways.
Actually, this is kinda general story, but most of the time you'll have to find out how to play yourself, because evere table is different, allthough I'm almost sure in the beginning you'll see lots of loose fish.
