Hi guys,

I was in a SB with A4s - 18BB. The guy in button, minraised. Blinds where 2500/5000. He was an active guy, 25/20. I was giving him a very wide range. Any pair, broadways, suited connectors, something like this. Also the BB was a total nit and I wasn't so active lately (I was card dead for more than 30 hands). Maybe he could have raised with almost anything.

I've decided to shove and he called with 66.

Do you think that I should have 3Bet him small, like 11000?

If he called I would make a small Cbet, like 12000 and still remain with 10BB, if he shoved?

Folding would be an option in this case?

The flop was perfect, something like KJ5.

I think that in such a situation, with blinds you need to push with any hand from 76s:cool:

I think you can wait for a better spot.

Yeah, this was my reaction on the spot, to shove.

I was also tired, after 14 hours of play, and I want it to risk it a little, because I was going for the win:)

Just call preflop, re-evaluate on flop.

You need to call 7.5K for a pot of 17.5K (possibly 22K if there is antes).

If BB calls, you see a hand 3 ways. If BB 3bets, you can let it go.

The problem with 3betting here is you're just bloating the pot with a very weak hand OOP. If you get 4bet/jammed on, you're giving up ~5BBs/18BB stack if you fold, which you don't want to do. But at the same time, you don't have a hand that's strong enough to call a 4bet jam with and are likely way behind in this spot. So, raising puts you in a really bad predicament-especially if BB is active in the hand as well.

I think jamming is fine if BTN folds to 3bets a lot, but I A4s is just too weak vs villain's given range. Giving villain a range of: any pair, any broadway, A2s+, 56s+, you have 45% equity vs villains 55% equity.

I think folding is just too weak as well with A4s. Without antes, you're still getting 2.3:1 to see a flop and still have 16 BBs behind if you need to check/fold.

You did the right thing. A4s with 18bb in SB against button open is a nice spot to shove.

I thought that 18BB, its too much, but most of the time the button is also folding, so it's ok
