hello my name is keoman, I have a slight personal question or I am a doubt ... I see a lot of people opening all win in tournaments with low pairs ... example 33/22/44 somebody has any hint of which position would be lucrative open all win with these hands?:confuso:

the chance to hit a set on the flop is 1 to 8 so this move is good not from early but middle position because the chances to get reraised are smaller. If you get reraised preflop fold. Example for microstakes you raise 3bb or 0.06 if you hit your set 1 to 8 you need to win 0.06*8 = 0.48 or more. That is why if someone reraise and you call lets say 0.18 you need to win 0.18*8=1.44. so it is for deep stacks play.

With small pairs you need a lot of patience.
Because as already written above, the chance to get into the set is 1 out of 8.
But if you got a set on the flop, you'll take the entire pot from your opponent.

personally, I rarely go VA Bank with these hands, I think it's stupid because you have a very small percentage of the winnings but it's there

open from HJ, botton, Small and Big, I believe it is profitable as long as you do not have bets before you!

It is not the winning hand but the skill you've developed in the game. The pairs win or lose, but this happens with all the kinds of pairs.

late positions and with the prudent stack, besides not paying 3 bets 4btes ..... can be very profitable since those sets are the hardest to read

I particularly do not play with these cards, fold is the best option in my opinion, although many opponents always get lucky with this type of hand.

early in a tournament I always fold them, except der is a huge pot because everyone limps. That could be a good catch sometimes. You see the flop very cheap and can then hit the set or make a laydown without wasting much chips

It is +EV play to open shove those hands when you are short stacked[ ~10bbs] . You will be slightly ahead to any Ax , Kx combination preflop.

Another play with those pocket low pairs is to apply pressure in blind versus blind situations, you can shove against the BB or re steal when you are the BB and the SB player open raise or open limp.

If the table is passive you can flat with them or complete your SB if the BB player doesn't like to squeeze pre flop.

Sometimes when I am the big stack I open shove in late position to bully and apply maximum pressure to the players on the blinds. I do it for two reasons:

1. they won't risk their tournament life with a marginal hand so they fold easily
2. In order to balance my open shove holdings although I am not a fan of open shove when I have many big blinds!

Limp In

With the small pocket pairs, my preferred play, pre-flop is to limp in from any position, as long as there have been no raises ahead. If someone raises behind and other limpers call, you may consider folding. Off course, if you are last to act, and the call is small, you will likely be getting better than 8-to-1 and thus have a positive EV.

Small pairs against A-50/50, the choice of everyone how to do! In freerolls, that's exactly how it is!

Small pairs are nice when you are in late position or in the blinds and you can call without a raise. Hitting your set can turn your small pair into a big pot!

When playing small and medium pocket pairs, your main task is to hit the set.

Hit in a low or medium set, has a very high potential value and is difficult to read, so it is usually well paid for by your opponents who have over-pairs.

However, do not forget that the chances of getting into the set are already flop, are only 12%. It is because of this low percentage of the probability of getting into the set that you have to be very careful.

I will play these small pp early from most positions (depending on the table. On a passive table, I might even raise from early position to disguise a set on a low flop when someone else might continue calling c-bets if they think you raised preflop from early position with a good hand. This is again table dependent and is better when you have a deep stack.

It all depends on the situation, position, number of players, etc. I mostly take off

From early positions if on my table are aggresive players i prefer limping or minraise and im ready to call 2BB more reraise, from late positonts sometimes i also minraise or reise to 3BB.I really like to see flops with 22,33 or 44 becouse if i hit i can take somones entire stake cos its hard to put somone on this type of hands.Last month i won tortument on pokerstars and crucial hand for me was hand with pocket 22 in stage of torutment when only 120 playes were in the game.I had fullhouse and one guy had trips kings with ace kicker .We both had big stack so after taking his whole stake i become chip leader. There was also alot of dead money in the pot becouse there was raise before the flop and 5 callers.

Starting the tournament I risk all positions, but I like to pay more in BB or SB with low pairs

I try to see the flop in most cases, but it does not badly damage my bank. Although chances of 1 to 8 are still, it's worth it.

Playing Tight and Agressive got me at least to the money range on freerolls tournaments. Though often I'm swallowed by the blinds for waiting too long on the right hands.

And I have to wins a few shoves/big pots because I played with the better hand. If that doesn't happen, I'm usually out.
