Ok here's the situation. In the BB and pretty well stacked (45bb) The Short stacked button open shoves all-in. Sb folds. I look down at 85o.
Assuming I come to the conclusion for better or for worse that the button shoved with 2 unpaired overcards or perhaps an A3o type of hand and that my 2 cards are live and I want to call. What pot odds do I need to make the call?

2:1? 1.3:1? Something else?

Thanks!!

If he has a higher card and lower card (or two unpaired higher cards) its 60-40 for him, so you only need 1.5 to 1 to break even.

The larger the portion of your stack it costs you to call this, the less you want to take odds like this. If it's only costing you 5 of your 45bb, call away. But if its costing you 15bb and you're still gettign 1.5 to 1 - You should tend to pass.

Stack preservation is just as important as accumulating chips.

Wouldn't we also include all pr's in their range as well?

good point.
chips you win are of less value than chips you lose.

but back to ur question, usually u can call like 2:1 or better there.
Against a range like any ace, any2broadway, all pocketpairs (or a wider range) u hv 33% EQ.
When u hv reads/stats showing that villain shoves tighter, then u call tighter against him.

Even with a solid read I would call.
Our hand is crap, but we still have the right pot odds to call.
