Ok, I did it. I won a $75 tourney ticket on tilt. I now am faced with a huge problem and need some advice. I usually play either 27 or 90 person SnG's on stars but just had some ftp sitting in an empty account on tilt so I used them and won. The only SnG's that pay money at tilt are 45 man. The rest are for tickets into bigger tournaments. They have some MTT's (scheduled) that pay tickets and some that have cash prizes. I want to play for cash whatever I do but can't decide which way to turn. Stick with what I know well (and am successful at) or step into the higher variance realm for the bigger payout? The overlay on the MTT's is HUGE. I saw one tournament that was a deep stack with $40,000 guaranteed with 10k going to 1st and only 398 people registered. They payed a much higher percentage of the field than a Sng and the lowest prize was identical at $120. 1st for the 45 SnG is $1100ish. The other option is a knock out with $15 for each casualty. This is, if not guaranteed, very nearly guaranteed money with the additional benefit of a higher payout than the SnG. Help. Please.

There was another thread around here somewhere with a similar question. The guy went with a matrix SnG. He cashed there for a little less than the buyin, but hey it was cash at least.

On the other hand if you don't need the money for your BR and you just want to gambooool, go for a Mini FTOPS or something. :)

^^ what he said.

Matrix SNG is an extremly good idea IMO. Low varience and a great chance to get a large % of the $75 ticket into cash.

Personally i would go for the matrix, then the deepstack as my seccond option, because of th large amount of play.

What is a matrix? I like the sound of lower variance. That might be a good option. I guess I'm not sure what an FTOPS is either. I'm woefully uninformed about tilt specific things. Sorry.

What, on FT?

I see several 18, 27, 45, 90, etc that all pay money...check the filters mate. Many others available I think. Plus, all kinds of MTTs at different times. GL, Wally

FTOPS = Full Tilt Open Poker Series (or something like that) - their big event series. Now they have "Mini FTOPS" running, which are smaller buy-in tourneys with pretty big guarantees.

Matrix is a format where you play 4 SnG's at once, all against the same people. You get payouts for a number of different things, including knocking people out and placing at each table.

I went through literally every one of them for two nights and didn't see anything other than the 45's. I suppose that it could be the time of day that I was looking too. Thanks for the info everyone. Been very helpful. A matrix seems very viable. It is now a choice between that and the deepstack if I can find another with so few people registered.
