We all get into these tough times when you just can't win a tourney no-matter what you do. What would you say is an expected downswing in 3.50$ 9 man sit and go?

I just lost 8 in a row usually around the bubble and honestly I feel like shit!

in a sample of 100 games a big downswing is about 15-25 buy ins

Is it turbo, non turbo or hyper sng?

Give us sample hands and many here would evaluate if there are leaks.

8 games is frustrating but thats seems pretty normal, downswings are a function of roi, so the best thing to do is to improve your game

maybe run all the hands through sng wiz and watch some videos

good luck

I'd suggest just taking a break and coming back at it with a clear head. You don't want to keep on playing if you are tilting. It is a game of luck after all.

Well bubbling 8 in a row surely has to mess with your confidence. Take a break I guess and come back fresh and ready to play.

My friend, I'm going to be bluntly honest with you. You need to give 100% focus when playing. I'm sure it's not entirely your fault as poker gets boring every now and then, and we as mammals with the attention span of fish seem to stray our attention away from our target. Not paying attention can be detrimental to any poker player, profitable or not.

This. Focus on another hobby to clear your mind, or maybe read some tournament strat to sharpen it.

Yeah it's totally normal. Some days you might loose way more than that or have terrible win loss ratios for the day. It's not a big deal. Until you have a sample of at least 1k of them it doesn't mean much and even 1k doesn't mean a lot.

If you're newish to these games and you would prefer something less swingy you can always try cash games.

Thank you for all your advice, I started taking breaks after every hour or so of play and it really helps, also taking things in perspective (looking at the last 1K sample or so) keeps you sane :D

You must analyze why you lose. Because of your own mistakes or because your pocket aces have been beaten by set of deuces, for example. If the most of failures is the second - it's normal situation (you just a loser:)) - sometimes it happens, as the opposite. If first - distract for a few days and work on your game then.

30 games bricked in a row are not that rare.

If we consider itm% avg for winning players on 9man is around 40%+-, then it means not cash in 60/100 is expected,
so in theory we could brick 60 in a row and still be profitable (if we turn on god mode and cash in 40 in a row).

Something to think about:)

I like how you think haha, yea that god mode is theoretically possible, especially if you turned the variance in your favor with bricking 40 in a row!
