Hey all, look first I'm going to Apologize because Carbon Pokers HH sucks and the only way to do this is to show you the hand, Don't worry I actually (blocked the other players hand), So we can discuss this...

Ok so let me say that were close to the money (To be exact we are like 25 away from the money), and it's the 3rd hour in, the person raising/pushing AI and I have had numerous games together so there-fore I got a good understanding of his playing style...The best way for me to sum him/her up would be LAG/PAG/Maniac (Passive and Aggressive)...What I mean is in numerous occasions this player has shown a Tendency to flat in Position/OOP to raises with SC, and a very Wide range of hands, and then on the flop once the C-Bet comes depending on Board texture and other things of this nature, If Raiser C-Bets depending on the Board will check Call/Check Raise AI, but he will never fold...So the only the thing I can figure really is that he/she wants to A)Catch there card or B)Float in Order to setup a bluff....

Now I'm not gonna say A/Q is ahead of his range 100% of the time, but it's up there like 85% in this position...Which brings me to my question I understand my call is A good call...But was my call the smart call is what I really wanted to figure out...By this I mean I could've waited for a better spot correct? I understand this thinking is "Result Ordinated", but it's results that count correct? So would you make the call yes, no....

BTW he's also SS such as myself, and To everyone that's gonna say, well you should never be this short BLAH BLAH:D , I say to you this, I took a pretty bad Back to Back to Back Bad beats, and thus that's why I was so short:)

BTW it's spots like these that cost me the most Out of ITM cashs...Which leads me to another question should I just stop all-together getting into these situations?

Which street did he shove?
I can't seem to find it in your post

I took it as a shove pf anyway, and it seems like a pretty standard play for a SS to squeeze with K or A low kicker on the button.

So thats aprox. equity of (AQo)65% versus (KT+)35%.

Being shortstacked you don't really have the luxury of choosing more equitable spots, so thats why you made a good call.

But all together are these spots we really want to keep finding our selves in..Preflop Calling Button shoves with AQ..Or Should I just tighten up my hand Selection alittle more?

This is an easy call/shove. You've got 18bb's with AQo... BTN has 13bb's and should realistically be shoving a fairly wide range (but does he.. 'usually'?).
If btn is a tourney reg. then I call here 100% of the time (actually... I can't really think of a time I wouldn't snapcall in this spot... except for very rare cases where I have history with villain & they're a huge HUGE NIT.. and will often blind way down in late levels).

You're getting 1.229 to 1 on the call.

You'd need 45%eq & with AQo you get that all day long vs. villain's range here. Even if villain was really tight (ie. they're only shoving A9s+,KQo+, 22+), you've got ~50%eq with AQo.
If villain was extremely tight & only shoving AJo+, 22+, AQo still has 44% eq.
ez call!!!!

I think it's a good shove. He's shoving with any high ace, looks like AJ. Maybe KJ. And we've all been shortstacked, don't worry. It happens.
