Given you are more comfortable playing conservatively, I would start with 9-handed tables. The blinds come around less often, so you can wait for premium/strong hands. However, I would encourage you to work on your aggression level a bit and then try 6-handed tables. The main difference in a 6-max is that you need to open up your range a bit (losing 3 chairs means losing all the early position seats). Chances also go up that your opponents will have premium hands less often. There are some great books out on microstakes play as well as some videos about micro play available at pokerstars
