Just wondering what the peak ITM%s are for 6-max hypers athe following stakes:

$1.50
$3.50
$7
$15
$30
$60
$100

After 1000 games at $3.5 hyper I'm at 44% ITM.
Is it possible to surpass 45% or 50% long term in the hypers?

You can check it by statistics of top regs on these limits. 50% itm is too op probably.

44% is pretty impressive

I used to play a lot of NLO8 in this structure.

Probably a tad under 50% is max.

From my estimation I do not think it is possible to surpass 50% in the long term. Maybe 46%-48% is possible.

The top guys in the nosebleeds (+$300/buy-in) for these games are at 36%, so the edges are clearly tiny at those stakes.

Im probably running a little hotter than expected since my biggest downswing over those 1000 games was maybe 10-15 buy-ins.

I'm trying to set a line for buy-ins/ITM% to decide when I should move up to the $7 games.

If I'm at +40% @ the $3.5 games, what kind of ITM% should I expect at the $7 games? +38%?

There's almost no info online that outlines the drop in edges from stake to stake.

If you have a 40% ITM and you get 1st the same amount as 2nd, then you win an average of $8.05 per game, which means you have an ROI% of 15%((8.05-7)/7) excluding rakeback.

That seems pretty good for hypers, and I would say that over 50% ITM in those tournies is probably unrealistic.

Good luck!

it's a deceptive figure the ITM, you would think that having a higher ITM would immediately mean that you make more money or have a higher ROI %. However it's usually not the case. If you have a high ITM figure it means (generally) that you will also finish second more often than first, having a high ITM will help you a lot don't get me wrong, but increasing your distribution to have more 1st place finishes has way more benefits.

Benefits include, having a lower ITM%, which sounds funny, but that basically means you take less time to finish games, you bust out on average earlier. Less game time on average means you are able to play many more over the course of a week or month, resulting in more $/hour. This depends on if you play in sets or play continuously and if you play high volume or multitable of course. The more games you play the more important saving time is.

The other thing a lower ITM will do is basically boost your 1st place finish distribution. Most of the time when i see players with high ITM it is generally because they play too tight of a range and don't take enough risks before the bubble hits, this means they have less chips on the bubble, tend to play smart and sneak into the money, however they are almost always left with a chip disadvantage once you get to HU, meaning more 2nd place than first place finishes.

Anyways, to answer your question, 37-40% is generally where the really good players land, if you are at 44% i would suggest that you don't really have that high of a sample, (no, 1000 games is not much of a sample size) and the variance hasn't distributed yet, or you are playing low level games where getting a huge ITM and less of a 1st place distribution is basically how you win, as many players go crazy early on and you are almost always left with a chip disadvantage.

ITM% for a winning player in these games will run around 35-37%

ROI% for a winning player in these games will run around 3-5%.

I haven't played 6max hyper SNGs regularly in years, however looking back at my old Carbon stats here is what my #s ran at to give you an idea.

Filtered for $1.10-$7 6max hyper SNGs

Count: 4,847
Av Stake: $2.72
Av Profit: $0.14
Total ROI
: 4.9%
ITM%
: 37.1%

I'm now at 2000 games, ITM has dropped from 44% to 40% over the last 1000 games.

I can definitely confirm your suspicions that I have way more 2nd place finishes than firsts. Probably close to 4 to 1.
