Well I never really understood how these work out (I understand basics of them), half the field gets paid+.11 cents for every 100 chips (Other then this I don't understand the proper ways to play them)...

So my questions are as follows is there a specific way to actually play these? Should I just aim to make 5th place and be happy with that? Should I fold winning hands on the bubble because (I believe to be ahead of say such and such players range of cards)? Should I think differently over all about these types of games/proceed/play them differently then other SNGs?

This hand that I'm about to post is the reason for asking the question in regards to how to actually proceed to play in these types of games...So I want to know exactly what to do in these types of cases for future games (Should they come up)...I thought about making the call and then I asked myself was it correct in hindsight but (When thinking back about it), it didn't make sense as to why I would've called since half the field get paid, 1 more player needed to go out, but because there was this very short stacked player (and I was sitting comfortably in 2nd, it didn't make sense for me to make the call over all, and thus I'm confused as to what to do)

Should I have called and seen it, should I just fold in these types of cases with this hand sitting in this spot with 1 player left to go till the money?

As for 50/50;'s..it's basically fold'em :p

As for that hand, this is such an easy fold and not even close..there are 4 short stacks, you can't/shoulden't even call aces here...

By the way, I've noticed a few threads by you of late, do you struggle in picking a format to play and stick with?

For example, within a week, I've seen you doing omaha cash, hold'em cash, mtt's, sng's and now 50/50s all of which have very different game plays.

I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but I don't think it helps playing a mixture. I'm one for swapping game types all the time, but I know it has a negative impact on my overall results.

I play all those still just getting feel for these, I still play Omaha when it comes to cash, Nl Cash I really don't play that (Just when I'm tired of Omaha, and it's like a 20 min session, Mtt's I play regularly and always have played them (Just getting back hard into them now), I don't play normal SNG at all (Never really liked them TBH), and these I was interested to see what they were about...

But your right I do play alot of different forms of poker and I do switch it up constantly

easy fold against the one who can take you out, i may or may not shove if it was the other 4, sometimes when you're guaranteed some good money, be happy and take it,
I bubbled one-was in 2nd place had a full house- how could I fold? lost to bigger fullhouse -and all the small stacks won

You might want to think about / look into how this type of payout table affects the value of the chips in your stack in a way that's not quite the same as it would in a more standard scheme.

Its actually closer than people seem to realize. Still a fold though, but really very narrow.
