50 000$ Giant freeroll, 888poker

Hi guys!

I am playing a 50 000$ freeroll at 888 poker tonight with 8500 participants. 500 gets in the money (20$) and the first price is 8000$. My goal is to reach top 90 (100$). Startstack is 1500 and the blinds is increasing every 6 minutes.

What would be my tactic? Tight aggresive? I think it must be many donks in a huge tournament like this? Any advices?

And, is there any other CC-players that will play this freeroll?

I think that probably best way to make great run is play TAG, wait for good spots and dont get involved to multi-way pots without premium hodlings. Thats all, hope you will do well.

888 is a joke there was like 3 people only playing on my table and the rest sat out, stupid promotional recreational player site!!! feel like i should uninstall it and replace it with unibet or something hahaha

It was like that for me too. It went bad, no money for me.. Better luck with poker tomorrow, I hope.

Im not too mad though got 2nd in the CC freeroll for $18.5

I hope to make the freeroll club soon so I can play those tourneys too. A really good opportunity I think, and the forum is very good! Best poker forum I have seen.

I made it ITM in that 888 tourney for $20.

Next hand after the bubble, I get TT, shoved it get called by KK end of story.

99, TT when shortstacked goes busto so often. Should snap fold and wait for a REAL hand.

That's actually advantages to have all those players sitting out, if you know what you're doing. I always find I do best in these promotional free rolls when there are a bunch if players sitting out.

Though I didn't do to well when I played in the previous 50k free roll. I was out second hand when I had KQ on a KQ3 board but was out to the bad player who had 33

I know that it's an advantage but it becomes kind of stupid when you only have 3 players playing it becomes a whole different game, im not a fan of 888 let's leave it at that

I couldn't know for sure, but as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who on the first hand of the tournament thinks it is a good play to min bet pre flop, min bet the flop, min bet the turn, shove all in on the river. Is a bad player in my book.

I'm not a fan of their software or RNG either. It's very laggy and obsolete, if you ask me. But you should never be ''software quality oriented'' or whatever.
If the games are juicy and there is plenty of fish to be exploited and money to be earned, then you should just try to ignore those not so good site features.
And there is plenty of bad players at 888, believe me.

You should always and only think in terms of profit. If you study economics, as you once staded if I'm not wrong (?), you should know that. I'm an economics student as well and I chose 888 as my primary site only because it's so fishy and full of casual donks/players.

I will probably switch to Pokerstars at some point in my poker career , but for now, I find 88 to be a great place to build a big bankroll.

yeah your right, that's the only reason i still have 888 installed and im not saying it's not a good idea to play there just right now i have my focus set on becoming a better tourney player on stars, 888 is very fishy it's pretty sick the stuff i have done there on the cam tables i mess around with the fish abuse them and end up with $30+ stacks on the 3c/6c tables one time i think i had $40 or close to stack when i just pissed this guy off to the point where he just wanted to flip with me no matter what, i'll go back to 888 when the time is right i don't think the fish will be going away from there anytime soon especially since it seems the only thing the site cares about is promotions and all these things that attract fish

Could be yeah , but sample size to small and its a freeroll as well.
People tend to play really bad in them in general, but doesn't mean they are bad players.

For example I play a CC game where the top prize is $30 or something in that area, there are a lot of players here on the forum , who really need or are happy if they win this, I am only winning one BI so why would I waste all my energy here? Does this make me a bad player if I am playing bad here and also rather see someone getting happy who can use this money well and probably get a confidence boost as well?

i would like to add that 888 adds on a 4 percent fee on your deposit by having your account credited in usd but charged in euros therefore causing you to pay more than you get! for example if you deposit $10 you actually are charge $10.40 that does not sound much but if you deposit $100 you will be charge $4 which is kind of ridiculous but hey that's just me and i care about ethical things like this

Bye far the best advice is tight at first to get through the donks only playing solid hands... I cant wait till the u.s can participate in all of the other poker sites it is a bit ridiculous we cannot participate living in the u.s

you can play for play money on stars that's a step, hopefully the u.s.a will move forward to letting players deposit it would add so much fish and money into the online poker economy! it will happen but it will take time
