How to become the most patient and assiduous playing in tournaments that last for more than 5-6 hours. If the tournament lasts more than 5 hours of my game style changes, I make a lot of mistakes and rash decisions. Because then I eliminated from the tournament, but can win more than.

how to be more patient?

Well, 5-6 hours that's alot - during that time you can reach FT or close to it, i had similar situation and almost asleep at the computer `cause tourney was started 00:00, and when game become soo long, 5 minutes rest help, but if i feel tired - do rest almost 15-20 minutes, but only if i have enough deep stack.

I think you should try to do something you enjoy , listen to music , watch TV ... everyone has their way of getting patience for a game.

Depends on energy levels IMO. Some ppl through diet and exercise have built up the capabilities needed to last that long, others like me, and many ppl can't do tourneys past 4 hours.

Best advice work at It steadily over time and hopefully things will turn for the better for you In the future than

In long session when I'm little bit tired I wait 5-10 second before "act".
This has helped to cut down on mistakes. I listen to music and make notes on opponents when I'm not playing.

I think that if poker is boring for you that you shouldn't play this game..
For me when I am deeper and my game take longer its makes more focused.

Yeah thats what i was thinking too bax! Once i make it further to the bubble and to the final table i get more concentrated and i dont need anything else to do.All im focusing on is the tournament itself.

ok before selecting an MTT heres a little rule of thumb i follow for time, seems to work pretty well for Sng's 45 man up too 10k entries in MTTs that have a buyin ( not freerolls) take the total entry and cut it in half every hour, give or take 10 mins or 10 entries over the last 4 years seems to give me good time frame on micro MTTs

PS when u get down to 36 figure hour per table

I find multi-tabling helps me.
I play on cash tables at the sametime to relieve fatigue.
If I finish earlier than expected in my mtts, I can just up and go from the cash tables.
I can always sitout during a cash game too.

That deep into a tournament, I'm very focused on the cards because the blinds are so high and we're usually short stacked. I'd suggest earlier in the game that you focus on the players. I make it a habit to figure the nuts regardless of whether I'm in the hand or not. Keeps me engaged and lets me watch people while they play and I'm not in the action. I'll admit to multi-tabling online tho, since the action is so much different there. Good luck!

The last tournament live I play for for 7hours, when i was very tired in the table and with no patience I just sit out, go to the bathroom, washed my face, and do some stretching, drink some water, and back to the table, and just win at 2nd place. Winning 200dollars.

You know, I'm so used to playing tournaments stroke that stopped paying attention to the time. Time, in this case, is the main measure of your success. Learn be passion an keep calm. Pay attention to opponents move, even it take all 5 hours straight. You know, one right decision or move, can bring you win.

it is laudable if self-control enough to sit through more than 4-5 hours in a row.

I don't have the patience and because of that fly - who says you have to dilute the current game - a couple of micro tables to the strain relief

I usually watch TV as I play, but if I'm still in a tourney after that long it usually means I'm at or near the final table and I get more focused, definitely not bored or tired. Reaching a final table is like a jolt of adrenaline, it perks me right up no matter what happened in the previous hours of play.
Your play can't help but change, whether you are the big stack trying to bully, a middle stack jockeying for position or a short stack trying to level up and looking for a spot to get the chips in.

5,6? Yeah, and the most annoying when you've been knocked out before the prize pool. :(
