I'm still very much learning the game, so I know i make mistakes often. My thinking was that I had just over 10 BBs left and there was already 700 in the pot. So i raised all in. What is the most profitable play here?

It depends on the players who limped, what phase of the tourney it is, etc. It is hard to give a good analysis without a lot more details.

it sound slike you have good pot odds. and with a small field like that you could have went from low stack to very big stck if you win that pot, i would took the chance and gambled as well

pretty bad shove.. A4 isnt good enough to shove here. and were deep enough anyways so we dont need to make a move..

unless you have a specific read that the villian limp/folds a lot, then you cant shove here

i agree with wizzim, not god enough with over 10 bb. Better to push with 56 suited there than a4

A4... not worth an AI.

A4 is definately not worth an AI shove preflop... I think I'm right in saying, there are 9 other Ax's (36 different starting hand combinations) that can beat you not to mention the possibility of any number of 13 pairs (78 combinations?) that already have a good lead on you pre-flop, even a lowly 2,2! Whilst being a suited hand did help, the value/ranking of the cards is more important.

To shove AI when short stacked, you at least need a medium to high pocket pair or a good blackjack 20/21 to minimise the risk of commiting your entire stack.

imo this ^ is totally incorrect.
In this hand here I don't think you have any fold equity with the shove, being that it's a $1 buyin (I don't think the shove is terrible though).
If there were no limpers in you could profitably shove w A4s in LP.

A bit decision factor here is how has the villan been playing? Do they limp a lot? If so, I like the shove. Have they ever limped big hands? I've seen people limp w/ AK and as soon as you shove from the BB, they snap-call. Against those people, I wait for a better spot.

At a $1 table, there is almost NO FOLD EQUITY. They just don't care. Many people like to call with any A. That is the biggest problem. Against any A, you are a huge dog (underdog).

I like your thought process, but I think w/o that information, I'd fold and wait for a stronger hand. Just remember when you shove w/ a weak A, better A's have you dominated.
