i play these 40 dollar games from time to time you start with about 10,000 chips blinds start at 100/200. They get 20 (2 tables) sometimes and even more most i have seen was about 50. is there a way to beat these type of games?

there is a way to beat all types of games, except maybe flip games just gotta hope you get better cards that hold or that you get lucky.

50bb to start a tourney sounds like its very much a turbo.....lots of info you could provide though. Is it a freezeout or a rebuy, what are the speed of the blinds, is there an addon etc etc.

In general you will find the answer to this question in various other threads posing a similar question, basically play a good TAG approach if its in deed as turbo as it sounds it will be then hope to snag some good hands and post before you get too short. Play to table dynamics, if everyone is playing tight then you wanna open your range some to steal more, always be aware of your position. if its a loose table then tight is right and punish limpers when you get the goods.

it sounds like you have played before as well so you always give more input on the game itself what the players are like etc etc. A question with few details cannot be given a very specific response and as with most poker it depends like i said on dynamics (other players skill levels, how they perceive you, lose/tight etc etc).

$40 live game is usually quite a fast structure.

I have found in these things there is no room for making big laydowns.

When you get big hands, you need to play them fast and not let them go. Yes, sometimes they'll be cracked.

Also, you pretty much gotta take your flips. Early in a deepstacked tourney I'll try like the dickens to not flip. Heck, I'll try not to be all in preflop basically ever when I'm deepstacked. But in these fast tourneys you should rarely if ever lay down AK preflop.

Basically, yes they can be beat. You need to have the courage of your convictions and be willing to pull the trigger with less than premium hands when the blinds get big.

Like said earlier, if we could get a good idea of how long the blinds are, that is when we could give alot more advice on how to beat the game.
