According to my current knowledge when i have 20-30BBs,i am in a grey zone when i am just waiting for a strong hand to push,as there is no space to play postflop.Are there no other moves you can do there? What hands can you 3bet light with 20-30bbs and how much do you raise?

..cash game player here.

don't open shove 30bbs please?

10bb = open shove

15-25ishbbs is a reshove stack imo. (someone raises, ship it over the top)

I don't like 3 betting light here, just move in with value hands.

Ask general questions and you will get general answers.

So general (usually unhelpful) answers

Anything up to 20 BB can be an open shove, it just depends on a lot of factors which like position, hand type, player tendancies, tournament strucuture( are the blinds going up soon? etc)

you usually want to 3bet light with stuff that plays decently against a strong range. Stuff like 87s plays a hell of a lot better vs a strong range than A2s does for example (becuase against a strong range you will end up against High Ax hands more often)

You don't have to just open shove 20-30 BB stacks, Just raise as normal and either shove flops, or get it in over two streets.

You should never shove 20-30 bb stacks. 20-30 is a good range to 3b shove, but not open-shove. With a stack of this size you should still be opening and playing as normal, either shoving flop or turn as stated above. I wouldn't open shove til 10-12bb range.

All of the above but its also important to play according to effective stack size, eg if you have 50bb on the button with 10bb stacks in the sb and bb then you should be shipping most of your range

So with 14 BB from the co you would open 2.5x with pocket 5's?

i think 22bb is the upper limit of my 3bet shove range,
after that i start 3bet/calling and jamming flops.
think 25-30 you are risking too many bb for too little return, so that players that call with a range that crushes you will have an advantage, and you are limiting the profitability of 3bet shoves which is gathering fold equity and substantially adding to your stack.
