Hi guys!

So, I have won a ticket to the 200K guarantee with a 215$ buy-in through freerolls! And I will try my luck on Sunday. The biggest tournament win for me is at 888 poker, a victory who gave 450$ so I can the game pretty well I think.

Yet is the biggest tournament I have played is with a 15$ buy-in so this will be a bit over my usually game. So do you guys have any hints? Startstack is 5K with 20 minutes blinds! Someone who have own experiences from just this tournament?

Merry Christmas to all of you! :)

Congratulations! I hope you run good and have a decent cash!

I did a similar thing through Full Tilt. Qualified through 4 levels of steps from a freeroll to a $250 buyin. It was during the early days of my poker career and I just played my normal game and didnt really notice a significant difference in the standard of the play. I was probably playing a bit tighter than normal which maybe made a difference.

I ended up finishing in the bottom third of the payouts which i was chuffed with. Min cash was something like $280 and i cashed for $400+. I had been playing $1 and $3 games at this point so it was a decent payout lol I remember the pay jumps were about $8-$10 a time and players were falling off pretty fast so i kinda shut down and blinded out by the end. If i played it now I might have started to make a move at 20BBs but i was playing with scared money lol

Best of luck and i hope you run great!!

Like the others said. Stick to your game, but keep in mind this is a much longer tournament than any of the free rolls. Blinds will be going up a lot slower, so it will take a lot of patience. Don't be in a rush to double up, you can afford to play tighter as the opponents generally will too.

So you´re playing the game on Sunday? Make sure you have an early night on Saturday and get your game-face on lol

What buyins do you play normally? Would a min cash of approx $300 be a good result? Or are you setting you sights higher?!

I played on the same table as a few poker pros in the one i played. Was on the same table as Lex Velduis and Martin Stasko (who had come second in the main event that year!) at points in the tournament. Lasted longer than both as well lol I doubt they were playing with scared money tho!

Good luck!

Yes, I will play on this sunday! :) I hope I will give myself a great christmas present! No, acctually I will try to stay awake on saturday so I can sleep long on sunday, its a bad timezone for me, if I go long I must play at night! ;)

I normally stays at 1-10$ buy in, so this will be new for me. A min cash in this tournament is like 400$ based on previous tournaments, and that is huge for me. So my goal is to make the money, but of course, I cant stop dreaming of winning and aprox 40 000$. ;)

Thanks!

I have played the Million on partypoker when it was there with $640 buy in and it was the same format of blinds with 20k of chips but I have to tell you those blinds are starting with 25/50 1st level so it goes more faster then it looks. However, the tournament is full with tight players so what I can advice you is to be very very patient and fill the table, try to play 1,2 game and when you want to push be on the button. Good luck and let us know how did you do. :icon_fara

1 and 2 means try to keep it simple, I mean your game. Try not be involved in some complex situations with more players etc. Feel the game. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Gl

Hi again guys! It went pretty bad for me.. I was playing good in the beginning but then lost much with a set (folding river whit board 6,8,9,T,A). I was playing really bad after that, overplaying hands and went out whiteout money. I'm angry with myself but I will try to win an another ticket and come back even stronger :D

How did it go for you donkysnake? :)

Try to play your normal game and you will do just fine. I am a low stakes ($1-5) mtt player too and once in a while i used to qualify for the $26 MTT's on FTP. The first one I played I stuck to my normal game and finished in ~18th after AA got cracked by KK and had a nice cash for a couple of hundred. Don't play scared. After all it cost you nothing to get into and worse come to worse you can learn from your experience, see how the tournament plays and qualify again for free next week! good luck!
