I feel your pain, nc.. I've had pretty decent succes early in my 2.20 career by winning a few in consecutive days giving my BR a nice bump.. However, since those wins I've been robbed many times by the fish chasing with virtually ATC.. It's a frustrating ride when getting sucked-out on by foolish and unreasonable play from donkeys devoid of any conceptually strategic play and the inability to recognize sound, structured practices.. I mean, don't get me wrong, I certainly can appreciate calling 75% pot bets to the river when you pair your 9 to the board with an 8-kicker and have a remote possibility of catching a runner-runner to complete your str8.. By you, I mean them; the carp.. And by appreciate, I mean, wtf could you possibly be thinking calling such substantial bets with an A K on the flop..?
In any event, my recommendation is to either bump you stakes, or be very patient and observant of others' play.. The more you know of their play, the more informed decisions you can make when deciding to put your chips in the middle when some tool re-raises your PoF bet on a nut flush draw.. There's always going to be suck-outs, and there's always going to be chasers hoping to catch the river.. Hopefully you can catch them w/out a paddle.. Good luck, my friend..
