i just started playing the 10 cent rebuys again on full tilt and was wondering if anyone had a good strategy for not just placing but winning
and is it better to rebuy or just quit when you lose all your chips?

This tournement is like a freeroll.
Normaly you should rebuy once more and try to push your hands to double up.
Take the add on if you need it and play tighter after the break.
Then you should make it with a little luck of course....

The best way to play these tournies is to take your time and be patient in the beginning. Because they are so cheap and they are rebuys people will go all-in with just about any hand because if they hit it then they are in good shape and if they miss it only costs .10 to try again. If you have a premium hand then this can be beneficial to you because you might get a lot of callers when you hit a monster. After the rebuys are done then you should be able to play it like any other low buyin game, there are going to be a lot of over-playing high cards and small pocket pairs, but at these limits you can't really get away from that. Good luck.

go nuts and hopefully you will have enough luck to get through the stage, if you don't intend to rebuy at least twice and a addon don't play rebuys, I have only played form $2 up but those $.10 rebuy take too long and unless you get lucky, I can't think of any other way of making to a prize position but you can try playing tight and not committing your stack before the river, if the other players will let you, generally play tight until you get to the final table because the emotional excitement from the players who got lucky and doubled up will not fade away and if you have a smaller stack you may just suffer a badbeat that will end your poker tourney.

It drives me nuts when you get that guy at the table who goes all in every single hand and just rebuys until he finally gets a hand that someone calls him on and he wins. I guess I shouldn't hate him thought since he is driving the prize pool up(although in this case it would only be .10c a rebuy).

QUIT

Do not even play that tournament. One out of 200 players are good players and eventually you will get out before winning because of a bad beat. To win that, you are going to need 90% luck and 10% skill. Almost every hand, someone moves all-in. You are better off just playing at the small money tables or 1$ tournaments.

Let my enlighten you on a fact, it is statistically wayy better to just
quite when you loose all your chips... Look at the cost of the rebuy, its
50 cents! 5 times the amount it took to buyin. Now just imagine, all those
people that do do the rebuy, they are jamming that extra money into
the pot, so if you only do the buyin, youll be paying for a lot more
than your money is worth! But most people dont care that much
about 50 cents and are looking for the big prise. If there is any strategy..
well just play a solid game, and take advantage of those quicktriggers
cause there are people like that on those 10 cent tournies, definitly,
so it might be a good idea to play tight in the first half hour - one hour.

Yeah it costs 50 cents to rebuy not 10 lol. I've only played these a few times, but I give it a shot with the 10 cents and play my best, but if I bust don't rebuy. You can make more profit I think if you don't rebuy and make ITM ever once in a while.

Yeah, what pokerjunky said. I don't ever rebuy either. Let everyone else contribute 5x the buy-in. I can understand the concept of this early in the tourney, but the way I see it, 1) most don't rebuy and you're not going to get 3000 more chips from each of them if you go all-in with a monster 2) if you're gonna play loose aggressive against others playing the same way just because you can rebuy for another 50 cents, well, that makes no sense to me. Further, many that do go all-in at the beginning have no intention of rebuying. They're going in with assorted garbage because it costs a dime. So it's probably a little different than a $5 buy-in rebuy in that regard.

There is no more a formula to winning these (as opposing to just finishing ITM) as any other MTT, as there are no rebuys or add-ons after the first break. Just play your game, and hope for a little (make that a lot of) luck along the way.

People should only use this as a last resort when you're broke, but only have some spare change left. Play tight, don't rebuy too much and play loose to make a stack early on. The bottom of the places don't pay out that much, and you don't want to rebuy for more than what last place pays out.

I play the .10c but dont do the rebuys or add ons at all.

I might consider an add on if i get to the break and see that I reeeeally need that boost of the xtra 1500 chips to get itm then I will take it.
