Just wondering what maybe your strategies are for hold em tournaments or either just what you think of mine?

If you read through it there another question at bottom

This is my tournament strategy for Hold em'
When blinds are small I tend to limp in and call the majority of the blinds since i realize that early on when the BB is only 30 chips and you have 1.5K chips and a semi desent hand your not that far off from winning
In my opinion any 2 cards can win a hand if its 7 2 or AA...
So i basically play Loose and Passive I also tend to stay away from a raises depending on my hand
Once I begin to win though and start taking a good size stack i slow become Loose and Aggressive depending on my opponent still being cautious of the raise or trap "Call to river than huge bet by opponent"
Then when it slowly comes down closer to the money I completly switch my playing style to Tight and Passive so I tend to only play good cards and start of with a raise or maybe play a trap by just calling and give a big raise

One of my questions is that when I have a large stack compared to majority of player in a Tournament should I switch to that Tight Passive player or should i just keep playing Loose and Aggresive?

One thing i notice is that when i dont see as many hand and i play Tight if i lead off with big bet and dont hit im in a loosing situation I usually end up ITM 80% of the time with this strategy but never make it that far cause when I play "Tight" ill have the best hand and play it like that with monsterous bets and kids will just keep calling and calling and win on the river to cut my chips in half or bigger.

I would try being loose aggressive right from the start. Generally aggressive play is rewarded mores so as long as you can afford to be a bit more loose, play aggressive as soon as you have a made hand.

Once the blinds start becoming a factor for the shorter stacks its time to tighten up. If its a big MTT less so, but for STT's it important at this point to take tournament odds into account. Whether knocking someone out is worth making a call with only a decent hand. If its only a small part of your stack, its generally worth it, but I will recommend playing rather tight once players start going all in or nothing.

I don't think it is such a great idea to call every blind in the beginning. When I have tried doing that in the past, I just end up losing a lot of chips quickly. I might even chase straight or flush draws, which do not complete. It is not bad being tigther as the blinds get higher, but I just do not think calling every blind is that good.

Calling blinds in the begining is terrible imo. You are chasing after small pots with the hopes of catching something against 5-6 other callers...which are doing the same thing as you.

Save the chips and be AGRESSIVE when the blinds go up so you can use the power of a bigger stack in the rounds where putting your chips into the pot mean something.

Calling off and being passive in the early rounds and then tightening up in the later rounds is against every good advise out there. Slow way to death.

Your strategy completely leaves out Tight Agressive. I personally don't see much use for "passive" play at all. Tight and agressive or Loose and agressive. Passive infers that you are letting others at the table push you around, playing their game.

How has that been working for you? Really curious.
