1.00 + .10 mtt on stars

ok so im here on stars and have been grinding this out for about 40 minutes now. the blinds are up to 30 and 60. started with 1500 have been playin fairly tight and raising in position with limpers with sc or KJo or better. (this is of course with pots limped into already or min raises from loose players). ( SC are 78 or better.) im up to 1725. problem im havin is im card dead and even though i may have seen around 24 percent of flops and raised about 12 percent. most of the time if its limped all the way around i have great odds so i call small blind. we are fixing to take the break and need some pointers here im running really bad with the cards and often with ak when i do raise another tight player that has limped pushes all in. any advice on how to get my chipstack up before the second break. i would attempt steals but the blinds are still to small. that and im waiting for all the maniacs to bust out or at least most of them. any advice would be appreciated. im fixing to go to afghanastan in a few weeks so i really really wanna take one of these to the final table at least just to say i did it. thanks guys and i love this forum should have joined before i started.

update guys. just started the break and up to 2265. got QJo in sb maniac raised the min raise and i called and bb called. flop comes 2 q a rainbow. i checked and it checked around i figure i have best hand at this time. flop comes 10 i bet half pot 300 bb folds maniac calls. turn comes k ant believe i made brodway i bet 500 and maniac folds. oh well i suppose you grind it through and watch certain players and you will make good reads and maybe get lucky could still use advice for after break though guys.

never mind that was short lived how some one can call a 5 bb raise when im under the gun with ak and the douche had a6o i have no clue. how am i sposed to build a br when this sick shit keeps happening ugh somedays i hate this game

Play the ones on full tilt, they are less rigged.
I run better on ft ones anyway...

I find it to be called full tilt for a reason. I have never run well there. To each their own I suppose hehe. When you are able to run deep in these tournaments stealing is key so the blinds and antes dont eat you alive. You won't be able to wait for cards, you have to steal in position with marginal hands.

the $2 90 man sit n gos are not bad..... it gives you a realisitic chance to cash. dont get me wrong, i like the big MTT too, but the 90 or even 180 man tourneys are not so daunting. best of luck.
