Hi guys

Soo... I've been playing on zynga for quite a while.. I think I have been getting along quite well but knowing that zynga is not a real money, how would I fair in real money games?

The reason I'm asking is that sometimes, when not playing for real money, u could do what ever u want concerning stratergy, yes you coul lose a couple million and be dissapointed but the fact that its not a real money game wouldn't urge one to throw ones self off a bridge.

If any one has made a transition from play money(zynga) to real money(888poker). Could u tell me of your experiences? I do know that the real poker sites have a play money option as well, but I seem to like the layout and gameplay of zynga. Wish they could make their way into real money poker...

Regards

hi chadox, yup i played exclusively on zynga for about 2 years, and i thought it was great....i loved the software, i was winning millions etc etc

then one day i had the bright idea to start playing for real

so i googled poker sites, and read reviews and decided on pokerstars....i downloaded the software and deposited $15 and aimlessly scoured the lobby trying to figure out what it all meant.....i decided to try sit n go's and bought in for $1.50 and sat at the table thinking WOW.....this is so much better......the software is a thousand times better than zynga for a start and the games were serious, unlike the bingo betting on zynga....ALL IN CALL CALL CALL CALL CALL......needless to say ive never looked back and have only deposited the once so far....its been about 3 weeks now.....i play at the microstakes 2nl....i buy in for $2 and hope to build my bankroll over time.......last week i went on zynga because i was on facebook anyway and i couldnt believe how CRAP it looked compared to pokerstars.....

in a nutshell mate zynga is god awful....the software, the game everything.....but it did its job and made me progress to a real site....good luck

That's what I did Zynga to 888.
Cashed in my first SitnGo and it was all downhill from there. Had to relearn everything.
It beat me for a while, I practiced on their 2c MTT for ages, which is still a donkament but the players are better than Zynga.
I am still a micro player but beginning to show a tiny profit. Sometimes enough for a pint. I hate Zynga now, all the graphics and bs

Fyi, Zynga intends to start real money poker next year, although only in some parts of the world, not including the US. It is, however, involved in lobbying DC to change the laws so it (along with other operators) can enter the US market.

That would be like shooting fish in a barrel for the first few months

Hi again,

Like u caesura, I've already made the jump from zynga to 888 but most of my time is spent playing on zynga (Phone App). And for me I just feel more comfortable playing on my phone than on a pc. I gues it falls on preference? But I cannot find an app that has the real money option. I've tried looking at bwin and there app is not on the Istore.

But coming back to the 888poker. They have given me a 8 dollar joining bonus. And I've been playing for about 2 - 3 weeks. And funny enough, I haven't lost all my money yet.. It's on a very slow downward spiral concerning the money. But I'm getting a feel for it. But if zynga does give into the option of real money I would then have to play on there. Just because I have become so use to it.

Hey all young, poker stars, we're they not purchased by full tilt? Or the other way around. I can not recall! But if poker star is still up and running I will give it a shot.

Got another question, i don't think they would but would the poker sites payout your earning from a bonus they gave u even though they you didn't deposit any money? Coz... One would think that they gave u an 8 dollar bonus and say for example u won 20 dollars. Would they pay the difference of the two out?

It's gunna sound rude but whatev,

If all the poker you've played is zynga, and you'd rather play on your phone than a PC, then don't play for real money. You'll get crushed. You need to seriously commit to win real money online.
And ye, Pokerstars has an iphone app that supports real money play

hey, yeah pokerstars bought full tilts assets and they will re open in novermber.....i downloaded 888 Poker and i didnt particularly like it tbh, the software was not for me and there isnt much traffic....if i was you i would have a look at pokerstars.....it is the rolls royce of the pokerworld......cant get better than it imo...

and no you would have to deposit first to claim a bonus, otherwise people would be joining sites, collecting their bonuses then ****ing off again.......ya know what i mean

There is someone who has made a good comparison to Zynga vs real money, I'll see if I can find the link.

But unless you get up to high stakes, people there are generally only fish who only knows the basic rules of the game.

Ah, here you go, might be worth to take a look at:

On 888 if you click on your balance it should say how much is cleared for withdrawal

Hey all,

So thought I would keep u guys posted... I've found out that zynga... Well, compared to real money games is a whole flipping new ball game. Yeah zynga gets u into the so called " loop" of things but doesn't really prepare u for real games at all!

Anyway, on to the "progress". I've deposited $10(cheap skate) into my account just to get the feel of having to play with my own money. Took a few knocks and blows but after about 250, I guess sitting on $5.35 ain't that bad?(your views please).

I've loved sit n go's in zynga but I just cannot seem to get the ball rolling in 888, however, cash games(stake 0.1/0.2) I find more appealing and to have me see how much money I have at hand appose to the same amount of chips in sit n go's really sort of helps me make better educated decisions.

Otherwise. So far... I'm still learning. A month in and not as bad as I thought

I went from playing play money on stars and winning practically every sit n go i entered to playing with free 8 dollars at 888 poker and losing it in an hour. Vastly different.

i liked sitngo's aswell(in play money), but everyone suggests tourney players don't translate well into cash games, but cash game players can fair decently in a tourney. So obviously i decided to start playing cash games, and it's proven to be much easier to b/e there.

Actually, I did the exact transition which you are talking about above :) I loved Zynga too, but must say that playing in real money sites is so much more fun. You cannot compare the adrenalin you feel when you are dealing with real money compared to fake money. Also, real money sites today have created such cool and fun platforms to play in, so I am sure you will start to enjoy yourself very quickly :) Finally, it is only when you start playing with real money that you can really say you are playing poker, trust me. You are forced to learn and take the best actions because you know that your bank account is on the line. I have joined a very good poker site with many easy beginners and killing it right not to be honest. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Zynga is a toy...No comparison. You get play chips, what are you going to do with that? There are freerolls to get real money. Like here, use there money. There are other forums, that give money. Dont waste your time on zynga, even though there is talk of real money poker there. Dont support that facebook toy, welcome to real online poker. Where the big boys play, not the want to be's. Good luck.
