Usually you want to just call small pockets anywhere else, but when it comes to the button and the blinds are folded to you... how should you play them against the SB and BB? I mean pockets 3 handed are a very good hand, well more likely beating them than losing... If i raise and get called, i have the chance to follow the raise up next turn, or if I catch, try to sucker them in... If i just call then I could be seting myself up for a trap and lose the pot... or would it be the right play considering the circumstances? your thoughts please...

U raise them

Even to 2.5x if that makes u more comfortable.

Mostly the blinds will have junk, so ur get fold equity on ur raise and also build a bigger pot PF if u hit a set. Which makes it easier to get it in. It depends if ur playing short stacked tourney or cash game. If ur in a tourhey u might just want to shove with 4x the blinds.

Well i raise K7o and sometimes 72 from the button. Due to the fold equity and positional advantage over the SB/BB. Also with the aggro rep u can make some weaker players tilt a bit.

I agree, but add:
It also depends on the players that are on the blinds and how they play. If you have a good read on them you should be able to put them on a hand with a 3x raise pre-flop and how they bet the flop (since the sb will be leading out)
You might get trapped a few times, but you should be able to take that pot a majority of the time as long as the sb or bb dont catch something on the flop.

I agree with dogz.
It all depends on the players. If you are up against a calling station then raising might not be the best idea. Also are you talking tourney or ring table? If its a ring table I would just call and hope you can catch the set while the blinds hit top pair or 2 pair. If its a tourney I would raise most likely, especially if it was late stage because there is a good chance that you will pick up the blinds. Early tourney I would just call with low pp on button.

Well its highly unlikely that ill have a good read on their hand since theblinds would be folded to me... but ofcourse with the raise i give... ifi make a raise at all, them calling would be some information at least. But behrens i disagree with you. In a ring game you would just call? hopingthat you get a set and that the other gets a hand like 2 pair? There is toomuch hoping here. Poker isnt a game of hoping but action at the appropriatemoment. I wouldnt like the blinds to eat me up while im hoping that thatmonster comes.
