Governments do it, businesses do it, households do it, so why not you. After you have paid all your outgoings, what you have left is your disposable income, or non-essential items. You have to decide how much of your disposable income you want to spend on poker and once you have decided on this figure it is set in tablets of stone and you do not go beyond it.

Sorry, I forgot to add that your budget is split into four quarters, so that if you go bust in one quarter you can get back in the following one

I do not use any funds from my normal job for playing poker. That is just me though. I have been able to my bankroll from extra money that came in through various avenues and been able to play with that and what I have won.
