Hello everyone,

Is it possible to have double or nothing scheduled tournaments? Or are these only reserved for sit n go tournaments? If so, why?

Cheers,

D-Tex

What does it matter? You are only doubling your money, why would you want to wait for 500 out of 1000 people to get knocked out to double it when you could wait for 5 of 10 or 3 of 6? That would just be idiotic.

DONs only run in SNG format to my knowledge. All are single table tournaments in the US market, with the exception of Bovada, who runs 2 table DONs.

It makes more sense to have a smaller field you are only looking to double up.

I've seen double or nothing and triple or nothing MTTs on other sites, but I don't believe they run on Bovada/bodog.

If I am going to do a double or nothing, I prefer a ten seat table limit max.
Any higher, then a structured payout would fit my needs better.
First game of the day today, won a doubler. Hav'nt won anything (or lost) since.

Just finished the freeroll over on Juicy for CC with an all in (very dumb) of a QQ
Guy on my direct left holds QQ as well. The original bettor holds KK
Very frustrated at my play as I was folding pocket pairs to some huge raises.
I lost some hands with good starting hand quality only to lose to a K 2 or the likes.
I am wondering, do I need to change my play? Start raising and calling huge raises with a K2
This really set me back in terms of trying to get my poker game up.
I am done for poker for the day, I need to let this out of my system.
I am really surprised I seen alot of huge bets and raises with K2 or A3
I had been folding A 3 or A4 or A6 all day. Is this wrong? Should I be calling a 10x bb with A6? Other people were doing it routinely and winning.
And another bad while I was in a tournament that started just 30 min ago I ended up tilting on. Had a set vs set, my pocket 3's folded to guy's pocket A's. We both hit sets and that could have been the proof I needed to get me closer to that book I so desperately am in need of.
So I lost huge. Did not lose money, but lost huge. Lost some confidence as well.
lol I will be back to poker after I forget about my play tonight.

YES, on Bovada for sure and easier to win there for some odd reason.

I personally have never seen a quadruple up on Bovada, have seen dons and triple up but no quadruple up.

Look again they are in the MTTs not SNGs

I don't know why you would want a tournament of DON. Single table games last long enough with how tight everyone plays.

DoN's are quicker, you are playing down to less people and the blinds are going up at the same rate.

Try Allin Or Fold if you want a quicker game.

I've known some players who specialized in double-or-nothing SNGs and they say that the MTTs are a gold mine because there are more players who don't understand ICM, etc.

Used to play 3 or 4 similar type tourney at a time on PS...difference being top5
recieved half the entry fee back the rest was distributed based on % over
beginning chip stack...this prevented the coasting that so often happens in regular
DON's and sped the games up....

That's a pretty interesting concept in terms of how it would change ICM and the correct strategies for bubble play.

yup 1 of each a day. Really dont know why you'd play em though. If im gonna play for 3 hours in a mtt I want a chance to turn a $20 BI into at least a few hundred! love playin 6 handed DON's though. The 5.50s on Bovada are incredibly soft. Easy way to rack up 30-40 bucks for some MTTs later in the evening.

I admit im a coaster lol. I double while knockin someone out and after that I usually hang back and only play premium hands. Again this is in 6 handed DONs though. for FR I'll play 9 handed triple ups. For those you gotta continue being an aggressor even after a double.
