I will bow down and say i am a horrible poker player, whatever the case may be, i am looking for someone extremely experienced to mentor me and really help me clean my game up and my mental attitude towards it. The problem with the simple suggestion that people may off of, "Read this book", "Watch this video", "Play x amount of hands", is i have too much time on my hands.

I play poker on a minimum 4-8 hours a day and upwards. I seem to have a horrible ROI on pokerstars, I am looking for someone to possibly help me grow as a player through discussion and mentoring to become a lot more successful.

I would also like someone to discuss poker with; I feel like my game could benefit from talking through the things I'm learning. I gave you my Skype in your other thread about tilt. Feel free to add it if you want to chat. I don't know anything about tourney poker, but I could probably help your cash game some. I am still learning, but I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the basics.

And too much time on your hands is a great thing. Fill it with poker learnin'.

I would definitely be interested in helping either of you. After I got back from Vegas week I was discussing with a friend how much better of a coach I would be then player since I know how to make most of the right plays I just don't always do it while I'm playing due to boredom, stubbornness and stupidity. I'd definitely be interested since it helps me stay on track with what's correct.

A little about me. I'm a much better live player than online although I've won a fair amount in my online play. I play live at least twice a week and generally spend at least two hours everyday playing online. I play both tournaments and cash games well but I prefer tournaments or heads up online and cash games live. If you're interested i would love to help! Would be benefitial to both of us.

I will just chime in here. If you want some help, it is definitely possible. But, as in all things, if you dont know who is helping you, even if it is a more knowledgeable player than you are, you still cant be sure the advice you are getting is good.

I have had conversations with many players. Most will state their opinion as fact. There are often many ways to approach a situation, and sometimes not many. But many players will take "their" way as law, and give that on to you

IMO, get active here, and in any case post hands and take part in the HH discussions. You will start to see whose opinions you respect, and which players you can relate to. Then get in a skype group, and then take it from there.

Post your hands/questions on this site and see what answers you get. Maybe some help. Try it.

This site and two plus two definitely help me a lot. Reviewing hands on each works wonders especially since others can chime in as well.

yo dude , coach , dude. save the coaching until you realize that overcoming boredom, stubbornness and stupidity, are lessons 1 ,2nand 3 in becoming a winning player.. poker is a simple game that can be made difficult . if you want to be a winning player the be ready to spend a lot of time being bored.

its good to filter out who u decide to mentor you because if the teacher you choose does not have the skills required for the job, you will get worse instead of better.

That's why I wanna discuss poker with other always. I read and watched some online pros say how much coaching helping them tune up their own game. That's what I'm looking for. I'm no pro but if I can help someone and help myself I'm all for it.

I have been killing live bc I'm able to focus and stay disciplined but online I have trouble with that and that's what I was referring to above. I only play micro online now since I'm not find of bovada or carbon.

I get alot out of posting here n another forum since others can help and if I can form another relationship and discuss poker and maybe help my game too I'm all for it.

How much time do you currently allocate to working on your game outside of playing? And what do you do with that time? How much is spent reading, studying (these are not the same thing), analyzing your play via hand and/or tournament records, and what else do do do to work on getting better?

One thing I've always found helpful is to practice reading without playing. Rail a table - just 1. Watch all the players. As hands play out, think hoe each action by each player affects what you think his range is. When hands go to showdown, compare your reads with their actual holdings. Over time, try to get a feel for each person's style, ranges and tendencies from different positions, strengths and weaknesses, etc. And if they're people you play against, make notes plus review and update them from time to time.

Coaches usually charge a fee.
That's why he was smart enough to ask for a "Mentor" as they usually do their good deeds purely for the self-fulfilling gratification they get from helping others.
Good luck on the "Mentor" thing; but as many posters said "You can get most of the support and lessons from asking and posting to CC. Their is also a very detailed strategy section on the CC homepage. Also I feel I have gotten a lot of excellent experience from playing with CC players in Free Rolls.
