This worked out pretty well for me, I was playing a Double Deuce 50c + 10c satellite, made it to the final table, was getting a little short and shoved with from CO and got called by AK, hit a queen and looked like it was gonna be smooth sailing but my opponent ran into an ace on the river.

Wasn't really a bad beat but bubbling steamed me a little, I only lost like 1.10 because I never rebuy, just get one add on. Instead of just sitting and steaming or doing something stupid with my BR I did a quick workout, some crunches, pushups and light freeweight lifting.

Didn't really go for more than 25 minutes, but taking all my frustration and channeling it into working out really made me feel better. Maybe working out isn't for you, but I can't think of a better outlet for any anger you have towards poker.

Anyone else have any good outlet ideas?

Beer, Sex, Pot, baby seal hunting, political assassinations, not necessarily in that order - the list is long.....

But seriously, beer just makes me play worse, who can have sex after a bad loss, cant get pot here anymore, baby seals are far too cute, and I cant kill any politicians cause I am allergic to jail.

I have a big park near the house, I just go for a brisk walk, maybe 30 minutes, and I am ready to own the tables again. Or take a couple of hours with my 7 year old daughter, she shows me whats important..... Like she says "you dont call an all in early stage with AJos daddy, you should know that...." smart girl.......

PS I am being humorous (Oh Really?), and I know you are serious. When I am frustrated, I just take a break, have a cup of tea, but if the beats are to frustrating, then I really do the walk and playing with my girl ..., but she went all in utg with 7s, so I dont listen to her poker advice any more.... lol

Working out is an excellent idea salim271! Working out requires discipline as does poker.

It's too bad I'm too lazy to work out...LOL. :p

i try to workout before playing. if your going to workout after taking a bad beat you might as well switch to bodybuilding.

A couple of weeks ago after suffering numerous suckouts I decided to play Final Fantasy XI. Its a mmorg that takes a lot of time and energy. I played that for a week and forgot about poker. My first day week back I cashed in two $150 freerolls $5000 Academy freeroll.

Mmorgs are just far too time consuming (i got sucked into wow 2005-07) and I swear ill never play another lol.

But yeah working out makes you feel better. Exercise realeases endorphins which are a feel good hormorne that your brain produces. So its not bad thing to do after a bad beat.

Yeah fps games are great to hop on and play for a quick 30min session. Mmorgs on the other hand demand you have no life and play it constantly:eek:.

So similar to you I stick with fps (L4D2 atm) or rts games and play them longterm.

Be careful of those protein shakes, they killed my appetite.
