Hi!

My first post here!

Got a quick one for you,

I play in a SNG and we are heads up.

Lets say I push from button and get called. I have a 40% chance of winning when my opponent show his hand.

Can someone show me how to calculate how much had to be in the middle before my push relative to my stack size for this to be an autopush?

If you can, please show formula and an calculated example!

Thanks a ton!

Here you should be able to fast count %pot odds.
Important %pot odds it's not the same as pot odds.

Example:
Pot =100$, Villain bet 20$. When we count only pot odds REMEMBER, for our calculations we not add to pot, what we must call. Only same pot. We count pot=100$.

pot odds=100$/20$=5:1
%pot odds=1/(1+pot oddsy)=1/(1+5)=1/6=16,67%

We can count faster same our %pot odds!
When we count %pot odds REMEMBER for our calculations, we add to pot, what we must call. In this 20$. We count pot with our 20$=120$.
%pot odds=20/120=16,67%
%pot odds (to fast count)=(what we must call)/(pot in the table+what we must call).

And your question now:
Example your change to win ca 40%.
Pot=100$
Villain bet 67$
%pot odds=67$/(100$+67$)=40%
When your change is 40% you can call to maks 67% pot on the table. This 67% call pot is breakeven to profitable with 40% change to win.

Thanks for the clarification!

So to count this backwards:

Lets say its 100$ in the pot preflop.
I have 67$ behind.

In this instance it is correct to push with a hand that gives me a 40 % chance to win? Given that my opponent calls.

I corrected exactly to 65% pot and yes when your change to win is 40% with 100$ pot, your break even point with your 40% to win to profitable is maksimum load 65$.

We will remind, however, that the correctness of the game counts depending on the particular situation and not how we saw the opponent's card and from this our change to win :)
Example our card is J3. Pot preflop 100$ and we play allin from 200$. Villain call and show
27. In this when we show cards our J3 is better with villain 27, but it doesn`t mean that our play was correct.
