HELLO my fellow cardschatters.
i have another little trick im going to share with you guys to help you make a little more money in cash games. everytime you have a monster, its always a good idea to raise manually and not use the cursor by clicking the preselected bets. like say for example your playing in the .10-.25 cents cash and the average raise would be something like 1 dollar for example. i think that people tend to make looser calls if you bet something like 1.89 or a river reraise something like 3.98. when the guy sees all the pennies ,it kinda works like reverse psychology and he just doesnt believe you . the pennies look shady. anyways. thats what ive started doing lately and ive gotten some ridiculous calls with k high on very coordinated boards.
hope you guys like this and if you agree or disagree or have any opinion whatsoever ,i wanna hear it cause i aint to sure yet if this is true.
peace...

I employed a more manual approach to betting sizes for a while, I don't think having a few cents less will get you a call that would never otherwise happen though.

My interpretation of this is that my opponent is simply thinking more about his bet sizing and wants to accomplish something. I don't put much weight into it though, you can win a few cents more or you can lose a few cents of value.

I suppose if I was playing live I might think about this in more depth, but as a multi-tabler it is difficult to take the extra time just for the sake of a cent or two.

maybe your right. im not saying its a solid theory or anything. but, when you go to the super market, dont they usually have things priced at 3.99 or 5.99 or 9.99?
well they do that for a reason.the reason is to make the product more attractive "pricewise" to the customer.
Well, thats what i try to do when i bet. make it look less than what it is due to price. anyways .thnks for replying. it might be jibberish but it might actually play a small part in making people call. ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT THE NUTS HERE.(or a VG+ hand)

See, now that is bad. I thought you meant all the time. If you only do this with a super strong value hand then all you do is tell people not to call. Defeats the purpose of making a strange bet.

i just find it anoying when peaple bet wierd #s like that like 99 cents or something cuz in real life theres no chips for a penny then your stack has all odd numbers i like nice round numbers. just saying i find that alot of the peaple who bet this way usually dont have hands alot of the time they dont want to lose too much on there bluff so they bet like 67 cents easy to bail on but if you dont have anything its not worth chasing i play the micros

Be careful when you manually type in your bets that you don't mis-type. I don't type them anymore after typing in a raise of $15.00 when meaning to make it $1.50. Goodluck

It just shows more chips on the table vs 1 chip, and that does not work with me. :p

Although I think OP makes some ridiculous points sometimes, I do agree with this if you have the time.

I tend to make value bets $1.90 and bluffs the other side of the $, like $2.10. Dont know how well it works tbh.

Yeah I agree, if you have the time then I would go for it. If you only make the bet sizing like this with the nuts then it is a bad move. Do it all the time or do it none of the time IMO.

I almost always type in my bets. Like Matt just said, if you are only making this move with monsters, you are just raising a flag telling any competent player that over a short period of time. If I was watching that, it would be in my notes before the hand was even over.

The players that don't notice your trend are the players that will make your call regardless of it's $1.90 or $1.87 because they are not observant players.

I don.t type in my bets anymore after once doing a bad mistype also. Now I , always use the slider bar when available, so sometimes my bets look weird too.Not sure if it's gotten me any more calls in cash games though,I will try and take notice of it now. Interesting idea.

i came up with with this idea after blowing 400 at the 200NL.all the top togs there (who are very aggressive and raise 50 dollars with anything) raised alot using this method.like i would see guys raise 12.92 or 26.99 and they all did it so fast ,i was wondering if they had it ready from copy paste or smthng.of course i never believed them and was donking away all my paper .but thats a topic for another thread. anyways,i started doing it too at my limits of course and ive convinced myself its genius. anyways never EVER going to that table again .

Many of the multi-tablers are using scripts that will make it 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, etc of the pot with the push of a hotkey, that is likely what you saw happening.
