I think the biggest thing to avoid is overplaying them.

KQ is a marginal hand, you have to play it very tight.

I too believe it as a weak hand. Even weaker than A 5. Lol.

With KQ you are behind(AA,KK,QQ,AK,AQ,AJ) are you are 50 : 50 so its normal that you will lose most off the time

I already have an opinion a little different.
This is not a hand so bad and we can not get out of despising imeditato.
I've had very good results with this hand.

And also reinforcing my thoughts on bad or good mother to discard or throw all this is very relative.
I've played with AA, KK and lost. I've played with 26 and won.

I'll play them and I'll fold them. And anyway it goes I'm not putting a lot of chips into the hand pre-flop. But I like the hand post-flop if I can get in cheap. And getting to see the flop is great, because one or the other will come to the board more times than none.
Kind of like a double barrale shot gun. One of them bulliets could take you out. GL

I think that the map KQ is necessary to be easier-it's just a map that you came to play with her as with other surnames, a situation only not to risk it.

KQ seems to play a lot better in shorthanded games - less of a chance of running into AK, AA, KK. KQs vs ATo or AJo is almost a coin flip (44:56). KQo vs ATo or AJo is a little worse (40:60). I see it win a lot, but you do have to be careful. I'm usually going to play it depending on the circumstances.

The thing about KQx is that you have outs. With any hand other than the true premiums, you are looking for the playability of your hand. KQ has a lot of playability, so does JT.

We can't sit there waiting for the premiums for (sometimes) 100's of hands.

PF - You need to find a sweet spot for these hands. You really don't want much action with KQ, so you raise to find out who is interested, usually (and hopefully) you find no one is interested, and you take the blinds.

Post flop you get to reevaluate.

I agree, you really don't want to overplay KQ (or JT), but you will have outs!

KQ is probably the one hand that gets many players into the most trouble. There are two situations that I see come up time and time again.

Situation 1 - You are UTG/EP with KQ (suited or off - doesn't matter) in a MTT and you have between 10-20 bb's. That person shoves, and when (s)he is called, they are almost always behind (either against a pocket pair or dominated against AK, AQ, in which case they are in REAL trouble). It's best to fold that hand, even in late position most times, though table dynamics may sometimes warrant a shove.

Situation 2 - In a cash game where you are the original raiser with KQ and then somebody 3 bets behind you. You have to account for hands like AK/AQ as a big part of their 3-betting range. I find I'll be the one 3-betting with that hand or else I'm folding if I'm in early position pre-flop.

To me, it's about avoiding those awkward spots with marginal holdings, and KQ is probably the most marginal hand to have pre-flop especially in early position.

I've been losing chips with AA and KK a lot recently. I'd say these two get players into trouble more than KQ, because after all, they're only just a pair. Like KQ, it just depends entirely on the flop. Nevertheless, KQ in early position is a completely different situation to KQ in late position

I enjoy KQ. It has to fit your style of hands though. You have to mix up your average card hands a lot to play KQ. Don't over commit to a pot. Just realize that it is a limping hand and anyone with an ace will have you beat if you dont catch any cards. I like having KQ. Maybe it's because I haven't ran into KK, QQ, or AA with them yet... :)

Sometimes overestimating these hands like K-Q, when it is actually a marginal hand since they are dominated by other hands as A-K, A-Q, among others, and place us in making difficult decisions .. :(

The key to KQ is to make the most with it when you're ahead and lose the least when you're behind.

If you overplay/overvalue it, you will probably lose money with it.

I will play KQ from early at short-handed players, but tend to avoid playing it early at full tables (9 players). I think it is fine to play from middle and late. If you get 3-bet pre-flop then depending on your opponent you many definitely want to lay it down (you are dominated by all the premium hands). I will tend to call a 3-bet from the BB if I'm on the button and the BB player likes to reraise preflop. Post flop, just evaluate and see where you are at. If you have a good read on your opponent it will help immensely. If you weren't 3-bet preflop and its a fairly dry board with a K or Q on it, you probably have the best hand. GL!

The theory says that KQ off-suit is a hand that should not be played at all :D

Depends how you judge it and how you feel it. Generaly is from the strong hands but secondary, because there are the strong hands with ACE, like AA, AK, AQ.
