I'm looking how often I Cbet the flop out of how many opportunities I have. (I'm using Poker Tracker, btw). I did by filtering out Cont Bets Opps on the flop. And out of 10k hands at the limit I'm looking at now, apparently there are only about 350 total opportunities. (Keep in mind that I'm a somewhat Tight-Agr/Arg player -- 19 VP$P, 9 PFR, and 3.5 AF -- so I was surprised to see how few there were.)

Though I know it's a very good stat for looking at your own leaks, I'm asking here mostly because of how I'd specifically use this on the HUD. With say 300 hands played against someone (which I consider enough hands to at least start getting a sence of some of their betting habits), that means I'm often seeing the flop cbet % based on maybe measly 10 hands. This just doesn't seem right.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but wouldn't you need to have a sh*tload of hands on a opponent before the cbet flop stat actually becomes relevant?? I know a lot of people out there have that stat on their HUD, so how it is even meaningful for looking at most villains you encounter?

well, in order to get an opportunity to c-bet, you should be the aggressor (having raised) before the flop. with your 9% pre-flop raise, out of 10k hands you have raised ~900 before the flop.

then apparently, out of those 900, in ~550 of them you either did not see flop (won preflop or were reraised and folded) or it was donk-bet into you. seems like a perfectly reasonable rate to me... or am i missing something?

benevg is right on. If your PFR was higher you would have had more opportunities.

19/9 is loose passive, for whatever game you're playing.

Not really, since it will only track cbets when the villian is the preflop raiser. Obviosly the more hands the better but Cbet stat will be about as useful as the VPIP/PFR numbers you have on the villian. Stats like check raising and 4 betting take a long time to develop because they are usually rare occurances. Cbetting is pretty common, so you will get a pretty good idea quickly.

Yes it is meaningful but you have to know what it is telling you.

Example (obviously made up for effect):

4/3 nit might have a Cbet stat of 80, but that should not be too surprising as he is usually going to have a very strong preflop range. You can't necessarily think that you count his cbet as garbage, there will be a very good chance unelss you hit a set or two pair that you will be behind on the flop here.

Now if a 35/25 has a cbet stat of 65, well the odds are a lot of the time he is holding rags as he simply can't be betting for value that often so you can then decide to raise and take it away or proceed to the turn etc.

The numbers all work together to create a picture of a player. Try to figure out what they mean in conjunction with other stats.

FYI - I am certainly no master just my observations, I thought they might help you.
