Not quite sure I understand your question, but if you are asking which straight would win, 23456 would win as it would be a straight 6 high, instead of a 5 high straight.

Good luck!

in texas holdem the winning would be 23456, cause ti has higher straight.

A six high straight is bigger than a five high straight.

6 high is better in holdem, didn't realize it was not in stud?

6 high will win the pot at regular stud, but only gets half the pot in stud hi/lo vs 5 high

It depends on the suit. If A 2 3 4 5 of the same suit, then they will win. And if both that and that combination of different suits, they will win 2 3 4 5 6

Here's WHY 23456 would beat A2345 in Texas (assuming neither are straight flushes); the Ace essentially plays as a "1" in this situation, unlike an Ace in a TJQKA flush.

So in the same case where a 34567 straight beats a 23456 straight, a 23456 straight beats an A(1)2345 straight. Hope that explanation clears up the confusion of the A's value in straights!

6 high straight is better in most stud,
Holdem, 5 card stud, 7 card stud, Omaha, in fact all regular poker games the 6 high straight is better than the 5 high straight.

In special games like RAZZ the idea is to get the lowest hand so 12345 is the lowest.
In OMAHA HI/LO if these two hands occurred then it would be a split pot because 23456 would win the High pot and A2345 would win the Lo pot.

This is an excellent and more complete answer.

One additional note to the above in the 2-7 draw games Ace counts as high so the nuts would be 2 3 4 5 7.

Nice addition.
I never did understand the 2-7 game, or badugi.

I never did understand the 2-7 game, or badugi.

Badugi is a whole other kettle of fish, it's poker-like but doesn't technically use the standard poker hands.

Deuce-seven DOES use the standard poker hands, it just awards the pot to the WORST hand. So aces are high, straights are bad and flushes are bad... which is why 75432 is the best possible hand.

Razz and ace-to-five ignore straights and flushes, and aces are low, so the "best" hand in those games is 5432A.

Most split pot games (like Omaha Hi-Lo and Stud Hi-Lo) use the razz/ace-to-five hand rankings, with the added stipulation that low hands must be an 8 or lower to qualify.
