For me pahan 434, I am still starting off slowly till I feel more comfortable and then I will go to a more advanced table. There are plenty of micro range tables on many of the sites. I, personally, learn better by having a little skin in the game. I have also received good info from the different cardschat forums where they review several of the online poker sites. Check out all the forums and contribute when you can. See you on the tables.--r

Start playing in freerolls in any room. It would be a good exercise for you.

It's bad advice, playing freerolls just waste time and you can not learn how to play. If possible, it is better to make a small deposit and start playing microstakes.

A Good Start and Still Goin

I started playing for real money at PurePlay in their $10 freerolls, and also in freerolls to win chips that you can use to get into other for-money tournys; it's a great site to learn on and I even won $20 in 2 tournys.
I also recommend 888...... great site and they have freerolls for real $..... I've won some there too!

I too recommend starting with free rolls to get comfortable with the game. It's a good way to learn the flow, how the site works and is a magnified version of learning to take advantage of the poorer players. Also good to learn the terminology. Once you have a good feel for the site, then you can make a small deposit and start playing with real funds. This will give you a much more realistic game than the free rolls.

Better start in some small room, later you can receive no deposit bonuses for good rooms.
Or you can start on pokerstars - maximum players, best soft.

You should chose pokerstars, because their software is best also chose your tables according to your bankroll, if you don't intend to deposit you should go for play money at pokerstars..also if you want to deposit less amount there are lots of tables at pokerstars for microstakes...:)

Freerolls and play chips are very different from poker for money. I will not go into the details, then you'll see. I agree with horizon, you can make a small deposit and play at the micros, and if you do not want to - try to enter the freeroll club, and trie to build up a bankroll to play on the same micros. That's all. Good Luck!

I would suggest Titan Poker. They have freerolls for beginners only and these usually have less than 100 entrants. They also have many other promotions for new players.

Accumulate experience in free tournament and with time you will start earning small amounts of money and you will start playing tournaments with small entrances and will only grow.

Freerolls are unhealth way to learn poker...! I am new too , I tried to play freerolls but it is like playing lotto! I agree with vizzivizo and with horizon . Make a small deposit and try at small tables or a small tournament !

I don't know where you are from and what sites you can play on. But if you are a US player, I'm always going to say you should try Full Flush Poker. They have a lot of freerolls through out the day, and they have the micro stakes to play your money from those freerolls or if you make a deposit. 2 years ago I deposited $50 there and the rest is history. 2 withdrawals and I have 5 times the $50 still in my account. But maybe I should say, I would not have that money if I had not come to CC. GL

The problem with that is that the same Donks you see in freerolls also play Microstakes.

Notthing wrong with playing freerolls just to get used to the mechanics of the game.

888 is having alot of disconnection issues lately and probably costing me a few tournys and some cents in microstakes; the most recent was a good run in the turbo goldfish satellite i was having. At the same time I won a sports bag and other things in the Summer Splashout! I'm hoping that the tech issues will go away soon.

Freerolls are a no no go area to learn poker.Try depositing and play MTT with capped number of players .You should also consider a site that has softer/ease field of players.
I keep reading that 888 Poker is soft.
