People say that 5nl and 10nl are the same level poker, they obviously don't know what the heck they're talking about because 5/10cent poker is hard as heck compared to 2/5cent.

Like seriously you better have a pair or you're getting repopped, it's unbelievable how good these players are. Where the heck do I learn poker in order to keep up?

Well, you should discuss hands with other guys.Hands where you think you havent played good and you think you might have played better.
There are many books you can read about the cash games. Also keep searching materials in internet sites, ask uncle Google any time.
But the most improtant thing is to never stop.
Good luck at the tables!

Hi Isa, (I'm guessing thats your first name). The main thing you need to learn to progress up through the levels is EXPERIENCE. I know this is probably stating the obvious, but it is the truth. This is the only way you can learn how to play. E.g Whether to re-raise your opponent as in your example above.

As regards books and poker time. I would suggest the following:-

1. My advice for a book is "The theory of Poker" by David Sklansky. This book is quite in depth, and requires you to read it probably 2/3 times and then use it as a reference book for looking at how you played a hand etc..

2. Whatever amount of time you allocate to playing poker, possibly AS MUCH AS 1/3 of it should be used for reading and learning how to play, watching videos - general learning.

Hope this is some help to you and gl in the future :D:D:D

You should start with the NL 1-2. And play using bankroll management.

You will see a definite change in play as you go up in stakes. from 2/5 cent to 2/5 dollars. People tend to play alot more looser with lower stakes. But the higher stakes people tend respect the money thats being put out there unless there some kind millioniare that really doesnt give a crap on what hand he plays.
It the same with MTT's the high the buyin the more tighter the players are. But the $3 and $5 buyin tournaments people tend to play crazy because it only $3 or $5.

Keep playing...
Pokerstars online school is a brilliant way to start learnign a Beginner to intermediate strategies etc.
Once you've done that, time to get some books!
Doyle Brunsons Super system 2 is great for cash games
Kill everyone is great for MMT and SNG strategy, and gets pretty in depth but never goes past a highschool level of maths.
The little green book is another in depth book.

BUT

Don't read these books and expect to be a pro over night...
You need to read these books, and play, and analyze your hands and situations you get put in, then you need to go back and read the book again, and take notes, and treat it much like your most important high school exams...
