For the past few months I've been studying the game when I have the time. I signed up on BetOnline and played in quite a few of their freerolls. I've done well and have built up a few dollars, but haven't started playing for cash yet.

Anyway, I've seen some not so good things said about BetOnline on here. I'm ready to deposit $50, but want to play on a site that offers 2nl. I checked out Bovada, but the lowest they have is 5nl. What other sites for US players would you recommend that offer 2nl? If I have to I think I could do just fine at 5nl but I'm very conservative with my money and I know $50 would be a very tight bankroll at 5nl.

Any advice would be appreciated.

No US site that i've seen offers 2nl. Lowest is Carbon (Merge Network) with 4nl. Thats where I play atm. Good site, soft tables usually.

As for betonline, just get away! Runnnn! lol Not worth it, even if you went from nothing.

Yeah, I was going to look at Carbon, but I can't sign up as I'm in Kentucky I believe.

I definitely do not recommend playing at Betonline.. Ive heard some terrifying stories about people having their money dissapear and later find out that someone had accessed their account, only their betonline account, and bet all their money away. And its strange that customer service has access to your account number and password...

Heres the link to the stories.

I play at Bovada... Their are plenty of fish here and might be worth your while to deposit here. I know you want to play 2nl but at the 5nl a lot of people buy in with $1.50 anyways.

Where ever you chose to deposit, GL!

where to deposit

Hi, I have played every site that is allowed to US players. I will give you just my opinion. Bovada I play daily, I like their games, customer service and playing anonymously. Their deposit starts as low as $25. Juicystakes is fair place to play their games , customer service are only fair. BCP and ACR I have only played in tourneys . But they do offer freerolls quite often. Carbon, again I play daily , their customer service is poor. It is difficule to play in some sites because you live in KY. I live about 30 miles from KY border and have been turned down because of this. Well good luck and good skill on the felt. Hope we get to play some poker soon. cat

Well, I decided to go with Bovada anyway, picked up a Visa Gift card, but it continues to decline the card. Just not having any luck.

Visa Netspend works for Bovada. Here is their website. https://www.netspend.com/

Go there and in the upper right, you will a link for "Locations". Search for the nearest Netspend retailer in your area. Go purchase the card for roughly $4-$5, load $20+ to the card (Bovada has a about a %5 fee for Visa deposits although your first deposit is waived) Netspend will charge you about $1 for the transaction so make sure you put that into consideration too.

Once you have purchased your card you will need to activate it. Now I tried to do it online and it prompted me to call the customer service number. It took me about 10 minutes to reach a customer service rep, but when i did he told me i needed to verify my credentials. I needed to take a picture, or scan, my valid government issued ID card and SS card and email or fax them this. They will give you some sort of tracking number and an email where you will send your information too.

It will take about 4-6 hours to get verified and they will give you a call. I didnt answer the call and had to call the customer service number back and had to go through about a 15 minute long activation.

I had a very stressful time trying to get my card activated here is the story here. https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-deposits-withdrawals-54/very-aggravating-220395/
In the end it was worth it and i am now playing on Bovada :]

BTW, you will also need to send in a picture or a scanned copy of your government issued ID card to Bovada at cardverification@bovada.lv before you can make a deposit. So might as well send that in as soon as you can. I am pretty sure that is the email, might want to double check. Bovadas customer service is top notch.

Gl and i hope you can hit the tables soon! sorry for the long read lol. Thought id give you a heads up on the process!

The minimum deposit at Bovada is $20 not $25.
And to the OP, I would reccomend Bovada.

I did a little more researching on the matter and think I figured out what I can do. At Walgreens they have a greendot card. It's a Visa pre-paid, and it can be used internationally. I knew the gift card I got today said in the US only, but I didn't realize Bovada was based out of canada.

Anyway, I'll hit Walgreens tomorrow, and if, for some reason, that doesn't work, I'll give Bovada a call and see if there is any other easy alternative. I don't feel very comfortable scanning personal documents. I'm not applying for a frakkin' government job.

Thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully I'll be at the tables tomorrow taking all your money!

Try Black Chip Poker. This site offers a $500 Weekly Freeroll to all depositing customers there and I believe they run the same software as Juicy.

I haven't been able to deposit anywhere. My Visa is from Bank of America, so I'm assuming they block my deposit attempts.
