titles says it all...

i still play at mixed micro stakes...but i already noticed the fact that some games i lose big, cause my oppenents play didnt make sense unless he had 7 - 10 what did make sense, till he turns over his cards and shows 7-10 or even a 7 A :s...plus im getting pushed all in a lot more often in situation where i beat his 99 with JJ or get beaten by QQ...
i have less swings when i move up the stakes, the pots will be smaller and i m thinking because of this to leave the micro behind.

So when did you move up from the lowest micro stake?

It is only ur decision, there cannot be any advice. When u'll become easy to micro and ur bankroll is enough, than. But if u feel yourself uncomfortable, than u have to come back. But it is that all know as well and decision exclusively ur.

There are recommendations for the administration of your Bankroll, speaking of Texas Hold'em NL is recommended as a Semi Professional player an amount of 20 times the value you think to bet. Example, NL5 your minimum bank must have $ 100 USD.

I move up in stakes when my bankroll allows me to. Micro stakes is still poker, just fishier. I still jump onto some micro tables because I might be to tired, angry or something thats messing with me so my head isnt in the right mind set to play For Real. Its still experience non the less, I enjoy it :)

You can make money at any stakes. If you want to play higher stakes, try setting a limit.

At the moment, I'm just starting to play poker and learn much new to me, so still in the front. I learn to consistently win at the micros and I will move on, I hope

If your experiencing discomfort at micro, complaining about weak play is discomfort. I don't think moving up is an option.
Plus it all depends on your bankroll.

I think I 'll be at the micro stakes for a loooong time to come :D , I have a lot to learn , get better at playing poker , fix my leaks/mistakes and expand my bankroll before I do sth like that . I guess sb moves up when he feels he's ready , both his skills and his bakroll permitts him to play higher stakes , if he lose a lot , move down . I move very carefully , I 'm fine with this , poker for me is a hobby :) .

I've been playing micro stakes for years. Only now do I have the time to fix my mind, fix my game, and fix my BRM. I also did what the OP discussed and moved up early, but one bad session and I was broke. Not until I get better will I move up.

I would assume you would look to move up once you've prove yourself in micros and when your bank roll can accommodate. Simple

when you are rolled for it, and you dont have to do it all at once ....just gradually add higher limit tables into the mix

Yeah, BRM is key ofcourse but if you haven't got the (mental) game yet to play at higher lvl's, you will be losing anyways in the long run. That's why I'm sticking with micro tourneys at the moment.

I think you should feel comfortable playing with a certain strategy, when you see that you dominate it, then you start to play some table of a higher level, and so you combine the tables until you adapt.
Of course with a bankroll according to the new level.
good luck :)

you want to be comfortable is first rule second is brm. If you have both in check you can play whatever stakes you like. I play higher stakes when im rolling and on a roll.

I dont like to grind much though im an mtt player so to go to that I have to be running very well. I play ring when brm is below 20 at times and play only small buy ins with guars usually on wpn sleeves to move up. freerolls help.

It depends on you. If you want to risk with more money, you can play higher stakes. All is up to you.

I'm still on the fence, but as my technique and theory get more concrete I find myself easing into it more and more

I move up and down stakes depwnding on the size of my bankroll. I try to stick with atleast 60-70 buyins for the games I play

I would recommend like others that the stakes you play at should largely be dependent on your bankroll, BUT, if you find that you are not playing optimal poker and play better and more profitably at a higher level due to comfort, I can't say that such a move is not the correct decision.

Not sure I'm putting in 12.00 with 99. I think you overplayed your hand. What you consider "weird" really isn't that unusual, see it all the time. People limp with AA or KK. He limped waiting for a raise to shove.

While you think moving up is going to level the game, the opposite is actually true. As you move up better players understand the math better and loosen up. The range widens and the bets get more aggressive. You are going to see MORE limping with AA and KK, more 3 bets with 67, and more unorthodox play.

Moving up is never the answer to losing. The answer is adjusting to beat the level you are playing. Only after you can beat the level you are playing and all its nuances will you be successful at a higher level.
