Suppose I'm on the bubble of a tournament and it folds to the small blind and he jams. What kinds of hands can I call with?

Hi there and wellcome to cc! As regards your question, it depends a lot. If you are playing a freeroll and the sb has a much bigger stack than you, it could be possible they are jamming very wide, but it also depends on stack sizes. There's not a precise answer to your question because it depends on stack sizes and the type of player the sb is, but for sure you will call him with a stronger range of hands than your opponent's jamming range on the bubble

not enough information but being on the bubble means one thing you lose now you go broke. So if you think you can wait? Money then make such a move? Its always smartest imho to fold here and wait for a monster unless you got information and know is a jackass but if you call with a queen jack and he pushes with a jack 7 and you lose? Its still your fault for making that call.

Unfortunately this is a scenario we all will fall into a trap to at times.

The question is can you wait and money or do you have to force the issue? If you force the issue is calling going to ruin your night? If has little meaning sure call its easy

If is going to affect your play rest of night when you get bad beat? Always smarter to fold my two cents

If he has more chips than you he should be shoving very wide range of hands, but you can't call too light because you are on the bubble.

It depends on your M-ratio and whether or not you're going for a min-cash or trying to win. If you can wait until the bubble breaks and don't have realistic odds of progressing that much further, one could even argue for folding AA I guess.. If you cant wait out the bubble, I'd elect to call with any pocket, Ax, KA-6s/3o, QA-9o/8s, JA-T, and suited connectors 89+. This is like 1/3 of your range, so if you pull like 22 or 9Ts and can wait out several hands/another orbit in hopes of a better spot, that's obviously ideal. If it weren't a tournament, assuming they're shoving literally their entire range, you can technically break even playing any suited hand and everything >83o, but tournament play is obviously a lot different and most opponents won't be doing that lol.
