Hello! Im playing in PS and recently got all my bankroll out and started from the zero. My goal was to get 1$ from freerolls so I can play in Zoom NL. I got the money in 2-3 days (thank's to 100k privilage) and today started the Zoom. I was going bad (up to 0.4$) but then I went up to 8.5$ with some really good hands against some fishes. Then suddenly I got too loose and started losing. Just for 30 mins I lost all of it and now I am trying to realize when should I have stopped. How to realize that the right moment has came (I get loose everytime my stack gets big and start betting on everything) ?

It is not a matter of when should you stop. It is a matter of "don't get loose when you are doing well" The cards have no memory. They don't know that you are running well. So have the discipline to continue playing the game that got you ahead in the first place.

In moment when you had $8.5 and started to loose you should stand up, because it's obviously that you can not to make to much money only with $1 in one night. Always when you start to play with $1 or $2 and make 5 or 6 dollars you should stand up.

If you have that small of a roll I'd suggest standing up as soon as you're up half a buyin. Sit at a new table and keep playing, but you don't want to have close to your full roll on a single table, this is just asking to go broke.

Only have money on the table if you're willing to lose it. Obviously, you don't want to lose it, but that's not the same thing. For instance, if you have $8 and would be put off if you lose more than $2, stand up and sit at another table where you buyin for $2 or less. And note that the numbers can vary with your mood at any given moment.

You could set yourself a stop loss: Given you are playing low stakes, maybe 20% of your bank roll in one evening? With bigger stakes I would be more conservative. Good luck

One thing ive started doing, with rush and zoom in particular is i buy in for say 2 dollars. When i double it to 4 i leave and re enter with 2. Now im playing purely with profits and not bankroll. This is probably a mental trick, but i dont find myself chasing losses. Plus if you hit a bad run, go n tilt or have an all in miss then you still have the original 2 and havent lost anything.

To small of a bankroll to have bankroll management... but for knowing when to stop with a proper bank roll I would say don't stop after a certain win or loss

I'd say pick a predetermined time example you start at noon and say your going to play until 4. This will make you more disciplined so when your winning after your predetermined time it'll teach you to stop so you can get use to stopping when winning. Also if your losing after your predetermined time It will help you not chase after your losses by playing longer then your use to and just losing more of your bank roll

i have my "stop loss" and "stop win". stop loss is limit how much i can lose. stop win is opposite. it isnt necessary to adhere it strictly if you play your best. but dont feel invincible.

There will always be a debate of whether stop loss or stop wins are good to set or not.. Personally i hate doing this and play as long as i feel like i can play my best... This will work great for u in this situation the second you notice yourself playing loose or feeling over confident cuz your up, take a break and start over fresh! Clear mind, new buyin keep goin up up up

Ok folks, I read every comment and a lot of you advise me to change the rooms when I start losing. However, I am mostly playing Zoom (rush, fast fold, etc). Which means I should put the full stop. The Idea of "stop win" and "stop loss" is great!

You are trying to apply the wrong solution to the wrong problem. Go after fixing what is actually wrong - your head seems to think you can abandon a winning strategy for a losing, thrill seeking one because you are "playing with house money". Get more respect for the money you EARNED. It's yours. Choose to use it wisely and not blow it. Fix that and you will find yourself in these situations less often.

in all honesty, Media blitz is correct if you was at a single table
but your in a zoom, this means clearly your going to run into the same people, but they arent going to remember you as the player that took $1 to $8, so your table image isnt really going to benefit so IF you feel you are playing too loosely because of a "POSITIVE TILT" then stop playing, just like if you lose you wouldnt stop, but if you felt yourself on a "NEGATIVE TILT" you would clearly want to stop

play your A game all the time, and dont allow yourself to tilt, whether it be a positive or negative tilt.

Don't be controlled by your bankroll

From what I can tell. You've probably made the wrong approach to building your bankroll IMO.

Since you're starting from zero, I assume you are averse to risking your non-poker money. Begin by setting a minimum target roll once you get your first $1. Once you hit that magic number, close your game (UTG before paying the next BB).

Begin using the classic rule of thumb for bankroll management for less than 10% of your roll for buy-ins. Play short-stack cash games or if you prefer rush/zoom poker, buy in as a short stack.

Don't quit because you've made a profit and want to risk losing it all or worse when you made a loss. Play profitably by making right decisions, don't let your mood or your ability to make correct decisions be affected by the size of your roll.

Best of luck to you

:marchmell It is simple - if you keep stay for a long time on the cash tables y will lose everything. So win and GO untill y have money.:egg:

and most importantly, everything depends on the poker site. IT decides the winner. Don't forget this

I personally give myself 2-4 hours. If I get tired or bored I stop. I don't do the stop loss thing because good players get that money that was lost right back plus sum. I evaluate what happen in each session and build from there.

I think the most difficult thing to learn a poker player is to take care of your bankroll when in tilt! When you see that you have earned more than 100% of the stack with which you sat, you must get up and go! This is the only way to continue to have money in your account! Sometimes we are very lucky and we think we got the world ahead! A few seconds later we have not a dollar to play a mtt!

Italiano, i thought that for awhile. Problem is, if you stack a fish(or anyone for that matter) and he rebuys(or another fish sits in his place) you could wind up stacking him again very soon. On another note, if youre playing an all nit table and are taking down a ton of pots and have doubled your money, why get up if the table dynamics havent chanded? Almost daily by the end of my session i have a couple tables where ive tripled or even quadrupled or more my starting stack(25nl). I just evaluate each table now every hour or so and move on if im not making money

very good point. i usually stay a little longer if i can take down some easy big pots and bust about 2 players who continue to rebuy. i keep tabs of the major mistakes these players are making and try to stay away from their obvious "overbetting the pot to get my chips back" emotions. great way to rebuild a bankroll

Hello,
If you raised your bankroll to 8.5$ from 1$ I think you should to stop , because is hard to win more.
Anyway if you raised 6$ 7$ you could sitout.
Thanks!
