Hi everyone, just a quick one hopefully some of you can help me out. So the scenario is final table blinds are huge at 5-10000 and it gets folded around to you who is the SB, you have 10-12BB and the BB has around 12-15BB. What range should I be shoving? I've tried to read up a little bit and there is a push-fold table called the Nash table (he was a nobel prize winner in maths i think!) it basically says you should push with most hands if you think your opponent will fold. Most BB facing a push which will cripple them want A-8+ or pp5s or above.
What do the best forum people on the world think here? This is something I need to get a grip on? Thanks lads/lasses.

Any Two Cards (ATC)

EDIT: Misread the stack sizes. Shove very wide still.

You should probably consider the big picture in addition to you vs the BB. For instance, if there are players about to blind out and moving up a place or two means significantly more money, folding may give you a higher tournament EV than pushing.

Some people will call almost anything HU with the SB. If you make your bet too small they will call, if you make it too big you might get knocked out completely. Somewhere in the middle or just see the BB and hope to see the flop would be my suggestion.

This isn't a good idea. We don't want to bleed chips bvb, we don't really want to see a flop, we want to steal the blinds and maintain a decent chip stack as the blinds go up. Limping bvb 12bb deep when the player isn't lolwtfaggro and we aren't hoping to induce a shove is bad.

While the picture you gave us was nice, it is incomplete.

I would say that whatever you want to do in the SB v BB scenario is fine, just do it wholeheartedly. In general that would mean Shove or fold.

Agreed. There are relatively few situations where other actions are preferable. Thankfully, it's not very hard to find people at the low levels who choose other actions too often, not realizing it's a leak in their games.

thanks for all the answers guys i appreciate all the advice push or fold that's the one and do it 'wholeheartedly' as arjonius said. Me i'm going to shove any two cards from now on unless the BB has a massive stack, if he does then it's just big cards.

Wouldn't this case be player dependent? I've seen players call shoves while they are at risk more then you and/or there chips will be halved by there (absurd calls), and yet I've also seen players just fold/fold/fold/fold/fold and wait for only monsters...So I can't totally agree with this (no disrespect intended btw)..

To the OP, I'd say figure out the player that's the (BB), and then from there (If you have a tracker this helps alot btw;) ), and adjust to them, so if there really loose/be very tight and wait for hands like A8s+10Js+K10s+ any sort of connected cards and/or suited and PPs 77+, and if there extremely tight abuse the mess out of them like a like a (Fat girl in a thong wearing see through skinny jeans)

being in the sb means you ve got a whole round of elimination in front of you.getting called should mean a double up.thats what gives u an edge on the tourney.wait and shove any pair or a9+ during this round.
