This has happened to me twice this month playing online tournaments. Is it worth betting a significant amount if not all-in? The way I see it is: it is very unlikely that someone is holding the card that completes a four-of-a-kind so chances are that a high card will rake in the pot. To eliminate the chances of someone getting a full house on the turn I think it is most profitable to raise, especially if one's holding an ace.

What do you think? How would you play this situation?

What if they have a pocket pair?

Most people will call a flop bet say on a 444 board with 10 x + in hopes to pair the turn for a boat.

Theres no point in shoving on this flop, especially with air as thats just asking for trouble.

If I have AK on a 444 board and I raised pre, I will like to C bet here and perhaps the turn and see where I am at.

It depends on which rank is on the board, but holding 4 of a kind there isn't as unlikely as you might think. Also, while I suppose giant bets or shoving flop with ace high is one way to find out if you're beat or not, it's not something I can advocate most of the time for a few different reasons (reverse implied odds comes to mind as one of them).

I play on Full Flush most of the time, and in my experience most of the time someone has that other card. Or some one has a pp. I seen it happen yesterday. The flop was 777 and three players played it all the way down. One has 10s another has Qs and the other has 9s. So a shove with AK for me is trouble after the flop.

Its true that they might be holding pockets, I am just considering the long term effect of playing out this situation by shoving. How would one do the math for this?

It depends what happen preflop- the betting.

Another consideration would be the number of players involve.

i wouldnt go all in....if i have a bigger chip stack then him...id make him bet a bit over 1/3rd of his stack...just so i can make him think that im gonna make him go all in after the next card and im just betting that amount not to scare him off...if he continues...chances are he has the four of a kind...cause a 4 of a kinda would beat a full house...and u should cut your losses at that point...if u got a smaller stack i wouldnt bother.

I heard that the term for these types of bords is bingo. I see people play thse boards agressive. Some people play AK and low pairs like it is the nuts. I normally give up on boards like these with out a full house and and somewhat stronger one.
