When do you start raising?
I've seen many videos where the player will raise from the start of the tourney when the blinds are small (in position), and against the blinds only. To actually start building his stack up+let others know that any hand they play will actually cost you to play in. Don't get me wrong this seems like a great way to get under ppl's skin for when you do have a hand to get stacks in the middle more quickly, it also has a negative effect though (Atleast for me it does)...
Which brings me to my question, in what types of games/stakes are these moves actually made for/referring too (By moves I mean, raising when blinds are small 2.5x pre), and getting folds from players?
Does it have to do with the players more then anything else, or is it really more to do with the stakes? Or could it actually be that the player has had history with the said player in question (and thus knows that player to be a timid player/not one to defend his blinds)?
Last but not least could you all give me a general idea of when/whom/ and what types of buy-ins in general these videos refer to or when do you think raises (At what level more or less), would be better done in.
Maybe it does not have to do with the buy-in it self but more to do with the speed of the blinds
Any assistance most welcome
