When is a good time to begin playing MTT's?

I have some practice at poker and seem to do better in MTT's than Sit and go's or cash games. I have quite a lot of success in free roll's, however I was wondering whether it would be worth playing some MTT's without a lot of experience? I seemed to think it isn't because the variance is too great to actually win, but should I test it out anyway and see how I fare?

MTT's are from my experience softer than SnG's/Cash games.

MTT's are super soft and easy to build a BR with some time and effort and good volume, especially at the micro stakes. Just give it a shot.

Yeah, you should go for it. It's fun. Decide to commit to them for a while. Get yourself some tournament books and learn how to play them.

Being successful in a freeroll, it does not mean that you will succeed in tournaments for real money ..

The best option for you is it MTT microlimits and only reg speed...Because the game will be much softer, field is weak and at a distance can be very high ROI....

Thanks for the input guys. I will try some cheap MTT's and see how I do - I definitely do prefer the MTT structure to other types of poker but just never tried them as I'd heard the variance was greater...
