Hello folks, let's discuss the famous '' donkey bet '' in this post. I noticed that movre amateur players use more often, but I have watched several professional players using it. In your opinion when it's worth a donkey bet?

Some say it’s when you have a hand, but it’s not strong enough to call a bet. I don’t know if that is correct or not, it’s not part of my play, but I have been wondering should I add it to my arsenal.

IMHO, this takes down a ton of smaller pots, but gets killed occasionally with the slow played monster caller.

I like to lead into the pre flop raiser or field aka donk bet in live games when i have a strong hand.

A good example would be when I call a raise with a small pocket pair in the blinds and go to the flop with 4 players and I flop a set.

Rather than going for a check raise and risk everyone just checking through, which happens more than you would expect in 4 way pots, I will just lead and bet all three streets myself.
