Well I had been chugging along at .05/.10 LHE when I decided to give .02/.05 NLHE Zoom a go. Things went horribly. I figured this wouldn't be too bad of a move since I'm still really only playing my cards, but I was wrong. The plan was just to fold until something worth playing came along. I folded a bunch then probably played/ held onto hands that I shouldn't have. I'll post my stats for just the few hands I played then the 4 or so worst.

Hands: 110
BB/100: -188.36
VPIP: 10.61
PFR: 6.35
AFq: 53.33
WTSD%: 42.11
WSD: 25.00
C: -$10.36

probably too few hands for those to really mean anything so here are my biggest losers:

How bad were these hands? These were the best four hole cards i was dealt, besides AA and KK that I won. Needless to say, I'm pretty much done with NLHE for now until I have time to study a lot more than just the random thread or casual blog. ***not sure if it matters but I edited to add winning hands***

Just as a reference my LHE stats for .05/.10 are:

Hands: 548
BB/100: 9.6
VPIP: 19.04
PFR: 7.02
AFq: 68.27
WTSD%: 37.59
WSD: 52
C: $5.26

Thanks for any help/insight

All the hands were played quite badly except for the last one which no matter how you played it you would have lost.

I havent played that low limit but just from your hands I can tell its filled with donks so lots of easy money if you play right. Here is some basic advice that should dramatically improve your game.

First hand- first increase your 3bet size to 3x or 3.5x, your 3bet size is only good in tournaments. You are over playing a gutshot. Any pair, draw or made hand and your behind. Bet the flop then give up if your hand doesn't improve.

second hand- top pair average kicker you played it too aggressive. Although you couldn't win this hand you could have lost alot less by checking one street and also just calling.

3rd hand- Bet the flop then slow down as you might be behind and in this case you were.

4th-increase your 3bet size

Im assuming most players are callstations at this level so to make it easy when you have a good hand just pot it or bet near pot. I think most players will be calling no matter whatever u bet at these levels.

Thanks for the input. I definitely have a lot to still learn about 3betting and post flop play. Playing low stake LHE I think masked that a bit, and gave me a little false sense of confidence. Have a book from Harrington and one by Sklansky that I need to actually pick up and dive into.

The first hand I saw the straight draw, but really was playing A high. Expected opponent was playing high card too, until the T on the river, then attempted a bluff at it... I guess?
The rest I feel like I just sat there and watch hand after hand get folded or just limped in that when something playable came a long, especially when I hit on the flop but not the nuts, I played way to aggressive ignoring what hands could have me beat.

My overall goal is to play 200NL in a casino, winstar, Maybe 2 or 3 sessions of 4-6 hours a month. Would the competition be similar to 5NL online? I have no dreams of living off poker, but I do enjoy it, and if I can be decent enough to fund some other hobbies with it (golf and guns) that would be nice.

You can't really compare online to live poker both are completely different and both take a lot of practice in their own right. Someone can be an amazing player online but suck at live and vice versa. One of the best poker phrases I've heard is.. if you could avoid making the same mistake twice you could probably go from low level to high stakes within a year. Work on your game, there's a lot of free help on youtube and forums and then the best way is also by playing practice makes perfect.

I play 100NL and 200NL online and I was like you where I had no dreams of living off poker always playing on and off. But once I think about it I find its probably the fastest way to reach my dream which is to become location independent. I've only started playing regularly so still not sure what the future holds. What interests me is living the life while I'm young and traveling.

Anyway just keep learning and stay at the lower limits until you are a consistent winner over a few months then reevaluate if you are ready to take a shot at the next limit.

This statement is true. I primarily crush $1/2 live yet can't beat $5NL to save my life (granted I only play at bovada but still)

The player pool in live low stakes are similar to 5NL however you do need to make adjustments based on table dynamics.

first hand-that is very weak "3" bet. It isnt even a full 3-bet. Next, the bet on the flop. 1BB? what are we betting that for? Gives you no information, and highly doubt anyone would ever fold to that unless has complete shit. I really cant understand the light bet on flop, but then 1/2 on turn? The shove on river just horrible, but so was his call lol. Cant believe he called you with only A high, but then again you are shoving with A high :p
Second hand- Why are we so aggressive with TP? The bet on the flop, not bad cause we do have TP. Once we get a caller though, and a over comes on turn. Why are we betting pot on turn? We did not improve, if anything our hand just lost even more value. You could of simply checked it or maybe a smaller bet to try to control pot size for the river. Yet we probably still would of got screwed, would you of been prepared to lay down 3-of-a-kind...maybe
third hand-Why are we min. raising here on the button? Wow he played you just right. First of, he checked flop you bet he flats. That should be an indicator right there. Now on turn he checks, why would we push? What are we pushing for? We don't have the nuts. Lots of hands can beat us. Even a better A beats us or even an A10...that didnt cross your mind at all? Any 10 really. you min raised? Why wouldnt a 10 be coming along if the hand has anything decent to go with that 10...10J-10Q-10K-10A-hell 910s 810s etc.
fourth hand-once again, that is a very small "3" bet. After that looks pretty standard except for the shove on turn. I mean it was best play if you were raising. So really I think that hand was just a coolered of a hand.
Lastly, I am not good at cash so just my thoughts.
