Its not a bad beat because you didn't come in a humongous favorite. Its poker, gambling happens. With Ks you gotta be scared of the ace, if he had flipped AK it would have had the same effect; would that be a bad beat to you?

You had 12 Big blinds and you were able to call an all in and potentially double up with KK. You're going to win more than 2 out of 3 times against any hand except AA(which you'll only be facing 1 in 20 times you have KK, a risk you have to take). Snap call.

The guy shoved ATo, so at the very least, his range is around 10% of all hands. KK is 70-75% against this range, and higher if the range is wider.

How much more of a favorite do you need to be for it to be a bad beat?

Seems a lil early for the AT to shove or is this my wimpy-ness coming thru with 2.5K doesnt the villian have a little wiggle room to play poker 50/100 or are the blinds going up every 18 seconds in this one

The only times to consider folding KK pre flop are with multiple players getting all in in front of you, or when folding guarantees a big move up the money latter in a tournament.

It's not just about 'his' stack size here, it's about the stacks behind him left to act hint: if he raises he's priced in to call if they ship (except for SB w 18bb's, the rest are short!). Not sayin' it's optimal in this spot but something to consider that you may have left out.

What does that have to do with anything? Because villain has ~25bb's what difference does that make whether we're calling here or not?
(honestly I'd be real sure villain does not have AA here EVER).
So villain has us covered.... we're short but we wake up with a MONSTER > KK & we're thinking there's some remote chance we'd fold... ever?
(this would be a fold if we're on or near bubble of a satellite, where there's a flat payout of everyone winning same prize). In anything else this is NEVER a fold. (a better question might be > what do we call with here? You might be surprised by the response)

Why?

Personally I don't see this hand as any 'risk' at all. This is like an ideal scenario that you LOVE when it comes up for ya > "I got KK... hmm.. how am I going to get it in here? Oh look!!! Buddy open-shipped! Yay me!!!!!!!! "
