When I suffer a bad beat.. it may be immature but I simply walk away from my computer and refill my coffee.

If I sit down and chat up the other player, or just stay at my computer I know I'll tilt. I have the worst history of tilting right after getting a bad beat. I've thrown away SOOOOOO much money just rage all-ining or some stupid shit right after getting a bad beat.

I've recognized I need to step away to remain emotionless. If I can do it within 2-3 seconds of taking the bad beat I know I might be able to recover. Sure, I might miss a hand in the process, but I'd rather completely miss that hand than misplay it. Yes, I have stepped away before and got dealt aces and had to step away again haha, but that's life. In the long run I'd like to be able to handle bad beats and laugh it off, but right now I recognize I'm not emotionally mature enough to and so I walk away.

What about you guys? Stress balls? Music? Alcohol? Tell me please :D

Realize that sometimes you have won on a bad beat. That the flop, turn and river have been ridicuously lucky for you and crushed your opponents. Call it even and move on.

i think you find your way to deal with bad beats you can be less" emotional"with misfortune on poker by playing, experience ... when i have bad beat i focus to next hand but i cant control my emotions all the times depends on the game if i am on prizes the buy-in and so on..music can help personally i just read some articles for various issues and poker sometimes

I just laugh and carry on. Bad beats are the reason why the game is profitable to play. Can't win every time the odds are in your favour.

There are no bad beats only really blatant reminders that nothing about this game is Fair LOL except for the fact that everyone experiences them not just me (I think) ;)

When I have bad beat I usually curse gods a few times, sometimes in my head sometimes out loud... but then get my composure back and start playing the poker calm. :D

A genuine bad beat occurs when you have a hand that is clearly the favorite and gives your opponents very little chance to recover, but still they end up finding the cards they need.

Player A has AA, Player B is holding AK. Both players went all-in on a 7JJ flop. At this point, player A is a favorite with a 98% chance of winning the hand. Player B needs the next two cards to be a ten and a lady (to make a sequence), two kings to a full house, or the two remaining jacks to split the pot. The turn came K, and the river actually brings another K, which means Player B wins the hand with a full house.
However, often what a player believes to be a bad beat is in fact a lack of knowledge of the odds of the hands that they think should have won the pot for sure.

I get angry when I trap the LAG villan into shoving, and he pulls out the 86 - 14 victory,

example 9d 3d 8h flop. 2s turn, Donk LAG villain shoves my bet and shows Qd8d to my AdKd. rivers an 8c.

Realize that it happens to everyone and if you're like me, you then remember that for almost every river that has drowned you, you've likely been on the shore against someone else.

When an opponent gets it all in with a bad hand vs me and wins I just say to myself in my head "Thats why Im here." As long as you are making the correct plays in the long run you will be a winner. You have to accept and embrace the short term variance of the game if you want to be successful.

Online type nh and concentrate on the next hand, live, dive across the table slit their throat and pull their tongue through and tie their tongue in a lovely Windsor knot.

Oh bad bit very difficult to handle psychologically. Very hard to endure, both mentally and emotionally..
I just go out with a poker and turn off the computer. Try to keep nervous calm and just go to sleep.

I agree with taking a break I think its a good idea if you have had a bad beat but writing a blues song is a bit too much lol

I know that the bad beat it's part of the game. I'm able to accept that thing. From that point the bad beat doesn't bother me. I just step forward and concentrate for the next play.

Lmfao how is this immature at all? Probably the most mature thing you could do.

My personal championship strategy for dealing with bad beats is to immediately open up the hand replay window and leave it on full screen. Then swear at my monitor for several minutes while I watch him hit his 6% hand on the river over and over. Then I open up spotify, put on Beyonce's "Survivor", deposit $200 and multi-table $60 DON SNGs.

Get up and walk away- Try to remember the rare occasions variance worked in my favor.

When I play cash games and I deal with a bad beat , if I don't lose much it's no problem , but if I lose a lot I instantly stop playing , or else I will go on tilt and lose it all . If it's a tournament I try to calm down with whatever technique and recover as much chips as possible , but if it's a freeroll , I usually just shove next hand :)

If im at a lot of tourneys I just take a toke and keep at it. Might punch the wall next to me and curse... but I carry on.

If Im out of all tourneys and really need to vent I go for a jog or to the gym!
