I think the secret to winning a freeroll is to pick the ones that don't have many players. If you play one freeroll with 20 players and $20 pot (equal to $1 contributed per player), this (IMHO) is much better than 2000 players with a $200 prize pot (i.e. only 10 cents contributed per player).
